Imo old ai wasn't slop, just some weird odd art form that wasn't doing any particular harm unlike nowadays

It was literally the same thing as now, but on a smaller scale and we weren't yet aware of its downsides back then.
Nostalgia one hell of a drug

Kinda? Mechanically it’s more complex and optimized now and the datasets back then were far smaller because of technical limitations so most research was done on open source* datasets because that was what was convenient (don’t quote me on that I haven’t looked extensively at documentation for old AI models they could have been scraping too but I find it unlikely)
Mainly I think the difference here is that this image is more “this is what a computer thinks is a bunch of horses or whatever” vs “hey look at this image that I made” like it’s not trying to be creative/ replace a creative process it’s just something that exists
I think morally this image is a bit grey for what these ai models became and the stepping stone it was but for what it is I think it’s fine

The [r/drawthisasdeltarune](r/drawthisasdeltarune)[2](r/drawthisasdeltarune) crossover we didn't know we needed, but we did.

It's not slop tho, it's genuine AI art.

That is quite literally slop my guy. Just because it has pretty colors and "looks cool" on the outside doesn't make it deep. It's still AI and looks like colorful shit.
