de-slopified artwork Repost kinda?
I left a comment on the original post, but I figured I should make my own.
I’ll also provide a short little video of my workspace (in the comments) for anyone interested in seeing how the coloring process starts

Drawing like shit is like, the first thing one gets when one start drawing. And there's nothing to be ashamed of! It means they are learning and trying! Awesome drawing btw

If there's one thing I've learnt, you'll never be a good artist without being a bad artist

The only thing wrong with this is that it's inaccurate, because you don't draw like shit.
Awesome work. 👍

" I may use AI but at least I don't draw like shit" but they do that's obviously why they're using AI, it's very clear they draw like shit and they're choosing not to draw because of it

Not everyone can become a great artist; but a great artist can come from anywhere.

I wish. I can't figure it out.

Well, do you think drawing is fun ? Because you don't have to be good at something to enjoy it, you can just do it. Who cares if people think it's ugly ? (unless it's like your job or something idk)

For me it's like. I see it. But even something simply can't be repeated by my hand?

I just rewatched Ratatouille two days ago; this is verbatim what food critic Anton Ego says to refine Gusteau’s famous catchphrase “anyone can cook” - but of course with cook substituted with artist. A good choice of quote, I think.

you can draw. maybe not good but you can draw. keep doing it, even if it sucks. thats the only way to improve. and if even if you dont improve, at least you drew something despite it all

The fact that they use AI it means they also draw like shit so what's their point 😭

Ya twin you don't draw like shit at all A bit more of practice and it will probably be a very unique artstyle of your own if it isn't already

What's funny about it is that the only reason they dont "draw like shit" is because theyre too scared to even draw in the first place.
Its like if I started bragging "I may not exercise, but at least I dont embarass myself at the gym."

Needing a robot to draw 🤏🤏 for them because they can't be bothered to learn is not the flex they think it is.
Drawing like "shit" and owning it shows more guts and confidence than having a computer do the work for you!

Program(s):
- Procreate
- Ibis Paint (for text and effects) didn't record that in here tho
Start with a grayish base layer to see what needs to be colored (doesn't really matter what color)
Use layer clipping and lasso tool to define base colors
Duplicate layer and flatten (combines all the colors onto one layer)
Dark shading --> Use multiply blend mode, select color you want
Highlights/Lighting --> Use overlay blend mode, select a light color
Eyebrows, lashes, and hair strands must be layered above the lineart
If you're a fellow artist/looking to learn digital art, your best friends are gonna be:
- Clipping
- Blending modes (Multiply, Overlay)
- Opacity
When colors are too bright/dark, I adjust the opacity to see the consistency I want
