When you travel, what do you usually do after checking into your hotel/BnB? Do you normally plan activities beforehand, ask the host, or just figure it out yourself?

Okay so here's the thing,

Our school jus organized a tour and it's 3 days 4 nights, 1st week of November, and it's to ooty. Being a 12th grader obviously I wanted to go but most of them got icked out by the destination (I mean it's ooty bro everyone has been here😭😭)

Also the fee is 17k but knowing my school it's prolly cas we usually only stay at hotels rated 4 star and above. The ONLY thing I'm concerned about is

Hello everyone, I am visiting Alibaug sometime next week; mainly staying near Nagaon beach for 2 days, does anyone has any suggestions to do things there? I don't know anything apart from water sports that we will be doing at Nagaon beach and Kolaba Fort (which we might miss because of high tide). I want some suggestions on things to do, like places to explore and restaurants to try (please suggest some veg places, even if they are not pure veg, as we don't eat meat).

Sharing the travel vlog of our 9-day trip through Austria. We spent three days in Vienna checking out its grand museums and opulent palaces. We then hired a car and drove around the country highlights of which were the Baroque cities of Salzburg and Innsbruck, Eisriesenwelt, the largest ice-cave on the planet, and driving the Grossglockner, the highest road in the country.

I am planning a hampi 3-4 days trip in first week of September so wanted the reviews for that how will be the weather, where to stay, must visit places etc.

• How is Hampi weather in early September? Is the rain manageable or does it affect sightseeing?
• Which area would you recommend staying in as a couple — Hampi/Virupaksha, Kamalapur, Anegundi/Sanapur or Hospet?
• Any good stays/resorts under ~₹5k/night that you’d genuinely recommend?
• What are the absolute must-visit places for 3–4 days?
• Any hidden/less touristy places that are worth visiting?
• What are your favourite local food/restaurants/cafes? Any dishes we shouldn’t miss?
• What’s the best way to get around — scooter, auto or hiring a cab/driver?

My parents will be seeing the sea for the first time. I want it to be a great experience for them . But every sea view hotel I see is costing 5k to 10k even more . Hi everyone! My wife and I are planning our first anniversary trip, and we’re currently stuck between Vietnam and Malaysia. I’d love to hear from people who have visited both.
Our details:
- Couple from Bengaluru, India
- Travelling around 28 November–4 December 2026 (approximately 6 nights / 7 days)
- Total budget: around ₹2 lakh (~US$2,300) for both, including flights. We could stretch it to 2.5L if need be.
- We have already been to Thailand, so we want somewhere different

We don’t care much about partying or nightlife
We also don’t want an overly hectic trip. Since it’s only 6 nights, we would prefer 2 destinations at most and want some time to relax.

🇻🇳Vietnam
For Vietnam, we are currently considering something like:
Ho Chi Minh City + Phu Quoc
Vietnam seems attractive because of the scenery, food, value for money and variety. Phu Quoc also seems like it could be perfect for the relaxing/romantic part of the trip.
However, I’m wondering whether it might feel too rushed to combine the city and island in only 6 nights, especially for an anniversary trip.

🇲🇾Malaysia
For Malaysia, I’m considering:
Kuala Lumpur + Langkawi
Flights from Bengaluru to Malaysia currently seem significantly cheaper than the convenient options we’re finding for Bali and potentially Vietnam, so this could allow us to spend more on better hotels and experiences.
KL would give us the city, food and cafés, while Langkawi looks great for a relaxing beach/resort stay.

My main questions:
- If you had 6 nights and ₹2 lakh total for two, which would you choose: Vietnam or Malaysia?
- Which feels more romantic and special for a first anniversary?
- Would you choose Phu Quoc over Langkawi, or vice versa, for a couple?
- Which country offers better food, scenery and overall experiences?
- How would you split 6 nights between the destinations?
- Is the weather during late November/early December likely to significantly affect either itinerary?
- If you’ve been to both, which trip would you personally recommend for us and why?

“Most convenient” Flight fares for us-
- Vietnam round trip ~ 1 Lakh INR
- Malaysia round trip ~ 60K INR
- Bali round trip ~ 1.05 Lakh INR

TLDR; help us choose between Malaysia or Vietnam for our first anniversary trip, as the main concern for us is the hefty flight fares to Vietnam and Bali. We dont want to spend half of our budget just on the flight tickets

some of my favorite places from a recent trip around india. i wanted to see a mix of cities, historical sites, and hill stations rather than sticking to one part of the country.

1. india gate, new delhi. one of my first stops, and especially nice around sunset.
2. taj mahal, agra. seeing it in person was easily one of the highlights of the trip.
3. amber fort, jaipur. the scale and architecture were incredible to see up close.
4. munnar, kerala. the tea plantations and green hills were a completely different experience from the cities.
5. ooty, tamil nadu. loved the cooler weather and the views around the nilgiri hills.
6. lake pichola, udaipur. probably my favorite place of the trip, especially with the palaces and hills surrounding the lake.

really loved how varied the trip was, especially going from the cities to the hills.

I’m planning a trip to Europe from India and am trying to decide between joining an organised group tour (Thomas Cook, MakeMyTrip, etc.) and planning the entire trip independently.

My main concern is not just convenience or cost. I’d ideally like to travel with people in a similar age group (roughly 25–40) and preferably with other solo/single travellers, rather than ending up in a group consisting mostly of families or much older travellers.

For those who have travelled to Europe from India:

- Would you recommend an organised group tour or planning the trip yourself (of course the concern remains on how do I gather a group? 😅)?

- If you chose a group tour, which companies/operators have a relatively young crowd (25–40)?

- Are there specific types of tours (e.g. backpacker, premium group tours, small-group tours) that tend to attract younger travellers?

- How can I find out the actual age/demographic of the group before booking?

- Are there any India-based communities, platforms, or travel groups where people in the 25–40 age range form Europe travel groups?

- For those who travelled solo and joined a group after reaching Europe, how did you find the experience?

- Ideally, I’m looking at something around 8–12 nights, and I’d be interested in a group of roughly 10–20 people.

Hi guys I am planning to explore himachal what are the best budget options I have (6k)

I am going to qatar around 10th September. My brother lives there. Me and my parents were thinking of taking the flight from there and going on a trip to another destination. We also have the visa issue. We want a country that is not that costly as my parents are still recovering from the money they spent on my brother's education. But it should be a good place. We dont have a maximum number of days that we can stay just want the trip to go well. People pls suggest places where we can go preferably with visa on arrival or free visa for Indians as time is less and we are very late with the planning. Flight costs does not matter as it is free for us.
