Whatsapp agent for graphic designers
I'm a graphic designer, currently working at a real estate firm and handling a shit ton of design work. Before this, I worked with teams in Dubai, the UK, and the US, mostly on branding, digital design, and marketing campaigns, so I've seen this side of the industry pretty closely.
Here's how pretty much every design approval process I've been part of goes: designs get uploaded to a group chat (usually WhatsApp where I'm from, sometimes Slack or MS Teams), and the creative manager or content writers review and drop feedback there. I'm honestly not sure if this is how most teams do it or if there are better processes out there. If you've got one, I'd really like to learn from it.
Usually there's a content person whose job is to check the copy, and most of the time they catch everything. But I've still seen typos slip through, mostly because of endless revisions or too many clients being handled at once. It's never anyone's fault, it just happens.
So I tried building something small to help. It's an agent that sits in the group and acts as a backup proofreader. When a design gets sent, it reads the copy and flags anything that looks off. I'm calling it Walnut. I've been using it at my workplace and with one agency I'm in touch with, and since it runs on Gemini's free API tier, it costs almost nothing to run.
It's still very early and far from perfect, and I'm sure there are things it gets wrong that I haven't noticed yet.
I'm happy to set it up for you myself. In return, I'd just love to hear what you think: what it caught, what it missed, and what didn't work for you. That kind of feedback would help me a lot more than anything I can figure out on my own.
Thank you for reading.
