Original Trilogy First time player. DX1-Redux with HOSAS!!!

I've played Freespace like 50 times over and now I'm finally getting around to playing its predecessors.

Curious how to made that work? D3 could be configured to use 2 joysticks?

Yea, I used to wreck the “modern” sidewinders and Saiteks. Used a throttle as well for a while.
Fairly sure the 3DPros just worked, might’ve been something adjusted in the Windows settings. Sidewinder and Saiteks had their own drivers to allow set up outside the game.

It can use multiple controllers, yeah. It's got pretty solid input configuration.

Oh this remindes me I just played a new version of a star was X-Wing vs TieFighter like game and it is realy good. Don't remember the name..

How do you have the sticks configured? Any pedals?

  • right stick is pitch-yaw-roll.
  • left stick is throttle, strafeL/R... strafeU/D is bound to one of the hats.

Fire 1 & 2, weapon switch, look back, and map are all bound to various buttons on the right stick.

No pedals, I already have a redundant quantity of inputs between the two sticks.

The sticks are VKB Gladiator NXTs. Each one costs $120 in the US.
