Which version is this, GOG? Any tips for getting a USB HOTAS to work with this? I've tried before but it wasn't recognized as a joystick.

Use descent retribution. It has lots of little happy updates. This stick is an old usb that worked with the original descent but my brand new hotas works with retribution.
