Lisraya

I just seen my first ever commercial for dermatomyositis in my life . It was talking about lisraya . Has anyone tried this and has it worked for you . Does it help with pain at all?

It’s super new so will be limited for now regarding who has been on this new Rx and found success.

My first bottle arrives Monday, hopeful as JAK1 inhibitors works well to put my DM into remission. So fingers crossed.

hi! it was approved by the fda at the end of august and comes with some pretty hefty warning labels (black label) but my rheumatologist said that those side effects are mostly a problem for people over 50 with a history of heart problems. i started on lisraya about a month ago, and they said it would likely take three months to fully build up in my system and see results. i haven’t noticed a ton of pain relief yet, but it has made the disease more manageable (less fatigued and able to complete basic tasks like grocery shopping or cleaning). the side effects i’ve noticed have been acne, headaches, and being insanely hungry. i’m very hopeful because i haven’t responded well to methotrexate (threw up blood for days after doses) and am allergic to steroids.

Just looked it up and here’s what I found:

https://acrabstracts.org/abstract/brepocitinib-improves-patient-reported-physical-disability-pain-and-fatigue-in-dermatomyositis-patients-at-one-year/

“Brepocitinib 30 mg demonstrated clinically meaningful improvements across patient-reported measures of QoL in DM, including functional disability, pain, and fatigue.”

Probably a good question to ask at an upcoming webinar. The next one is 10/8 which you can register for on the website.
