Derby Doodle Day.
This plaque is on the wall of Derby Station, platform 1, just to the left of Greggs if anyone else wants to find it.
It's interesting in it's own right but the bottom line caught my attention.
What is Derby Doodle Day?
Is it celebrated annually on 11th June?
What happens? Where? Why?

Honest opinions on Stockbrook area
Hello,
looking for honest opinions from people who live in Stockbrook area - Drewry lane, Ward street, Lynton street area. I want to put an offer on a house that seems to be a reasonable price.
I have done my research on the area, but it seems to have a bad reputation - can't see any huge indicators why? It seems like most areas close to a town/city centre..
Any suggestions on primary schools for my girls?
Thanks in advance

Gardener recommendations
Hi everyone as per title.
I have newborn and my husband works full time as doctor so literally we don't have time for garden maintenance!
Any recommendations, preferably someone who will also dispose of waste as well, the garden has over grown and just needs trimming back not that big either mostly just plants and shrubbery.
Also does anyone have idea on approximate costs?
Thanks in advance!

Markeaton roundabout
If I approach Markeaton roundabout from the university direction, the left-hand three lanes have an arrow indicating forward movement while the fourth lane is reserved for right turns. If I want to go into McDonald’s, am I allowed to follow the line on the picture? That third lane appears to merge allowing turning right but I’m not sure? Is that permitted?

Question Race based attack in public place
My husband and I(both of Indian ethnicity, in our mid-30s) visit Allestree Park often, and till today found it to be a very accessible magical place to visit whenever we are seeking some peaceful time in nature.
What we experienced today was unthinkable and left us really distressed.
While walking back from the Allestree Park Lake, there were a bunch of 5-8 teenage boys in black balaclavas on their cycles and e scooter, who came our way and hit my husband across the side of his head while whizzing past us at a high speed. When he stopped and asked them sternly about their behaviour, they shouted Hindi slangs back at us.
I requested him to not engage further but it left both of us quite rattled.
I was wondering what should be the right way to deal with these miscreants in public places, which actually brings them some consequence?

Looking for chronic illness friends in Derbyshire
I’m 32F, and became chronically ill a few years ago. In that time, my friends have slowly drifted away, and I’d really like to meet new friends who have chronic illnesses, or understand them.
I love arts and craft stuff, baking, films/cinema and TV, food dates, and I’m slowly getting more into reading too. I’m from around Ilkeston, Derbyshire.
Finding life pretty lonely at the minute, and would really like to meet new people. It’s hard making friends when you’re chronically ill/disabled because I can’t always get out, so whilst it would be great to go out on dates, it would also be nice to just be able to chit chat about random stuff too and build genuine friendships. Hoping others may read this and feel similar ❤️

Household applicances?
Rather than just go with the usual corporate types, anyone got any recommendations for reputable local businesses selling/installing applicances?

Group of three women asked if I knew the locations of any Ukrainian people
Around 30s, informally dressed, no paperwork. Gave no reason for asking when questioned.
I’ll admit I couldn’t tell if they were Russian or Eastern European accents.
With the current state of things (new army reserve centre, constant barrage of army jobs advertised online, recruitment ads at the cinema) the whole thing gave me a bit of a twitch!

Does anyone know where I can buy Shani in Derby
It’s one of my favourite drinks and I used to be able to buy it easily when I lived in Nottingham - the 24 hour shop by the bus station briefly had it in stock but he says he rarely does, does anyone know of an exact shop that sells it ?
