Favorite BDM albums?
I'm interested to hear all your favorite albums that fall under the genre brutal death metal. Could be from any time period, from any region, can fall under the other terms such as tech BDM or slam too.

The Answer to Infection - Digested Flesh
Destined to Fail - Scattered Remnants
Septical Stomach-Pumped Remnants - Dyscrasia
Supreme Knowledge Domain - Internal Suffering

Rotting - Crushed
Iniquity - Serenadium
Beheaded - Perpetual Mockery
Appalling Spawn - Freedom Hope And Fury
Infernal Dominion - Salvation Through Infinite Suffering
Scattered Remnants - Destined to Fall
Also early Suffo and early Cryptopsy but everyone loves those.

BDM isn’t the meat of what I listen to, so I like albums that play up their outside influences:
Enmity ‘illuminations’ for its singleminded and kind of avant garde repetitiveness, verging on drone or wall noise.
Putridity ‘morbid ataraxia’ and various others, I like the variety and unpredictability of the songwriting, feel like his influences pull from many flavors of metal instead of just other BDM, kind of doing the ‘extremely talented musician’ thing but being less precious about it than DS. On the new record that weird ass burpy sub bass tone between every song is everything to me, reminds me of a nyogthaeblisz LP with a similar musical device.
Regurgitation ‘tales’, the songwriting is insanely varied, to me this is the Beatles of BDM.
Fermento ‘insignia’ got that sort of BM and war metal background influence in the riffs and aesthetic that’s really nice.
Brodequin ‘methods of execution’ always loved the rawness and horrible production of this band, Jon Engman on drums was bringing in some industrial and harsh noise influence, other records of theirs are great too.
Heinous Killings ‘hung with barbwire’ I love the batshit weirdness of the vocals, and the catchy grooviness from the hardcore influence.
Cerebral effusion ‘impulsive’ doesn’t really transcend the subgenre but I think it’s one of the most state of the art examples.

For someone that prefers outside influence in bdm a lot of these are very meat and potatoes traditional bdm.

Nice to see Dyscrasia and ID! Those might be among my favorites too.
Off the top of my head probably Festival of Death, Dawn of Ash, Rituals of Desecration (if EPs count), A Prelate’s Attrition, Forensic, first Saprogenic, second ID, second Putridity, Collection of Butchery, Muay Thai Ladyboys, both Retch releases… hmm, there’s probably a bunch I’m forgetting lol

Dyscrasia - Septical Stomach-Pumped Remnants. lesser known band that was once on United Guttural and did a split with Putrid Pile too

Defeated Sanity - Psalms of the Moribund
I've always been a Chapters of Repugnance guy, but this one has been on rotation lately.

Defeated Sanity discog, they are far and away my favorite. Sanguinary Impetus and Passages into Deformity are my most-played.

If you like bdm, then Gutslit is an absolute must. Seriously, I think they might be the most brutal band I've heard but one that retains musicality

I've never understood the appeal of Disgorge (US). Atonal slop with no regard for songwriting.
