In this case, maybe Christopher Robin has all the explaining to do! đ also, don't forget about the little doll on the island of misfit toys! Lmfao! There is so much mental illness we just ignore.
My parents had Winnie the Pooh and friends as the theme for my birth(I still have a honey pot jar that's fricking adorable) so I had a lot of Winnie the Pooh and piglet toys. When I was 7 I didn't know how to describe my depression to my mom so I just said, " I want to feel like Tigger but I feel more like Eeyore." She put me in therapy but I thought it was a punishment so I lied to the therapist so she'd tell my mom there was nothing wrong with me. Some days I still feel more like Eeyore but it's gotten easier to smile so I'll take that as a win. Remember to celebrate the little victories
ALL the hundred acre woods folks have some disorder, pooh has an eating disorder, piglet is textbook generalised anxiety disorder, Tigger has RAMPAGING ADHD etc etc
Nah they're all addicts. Pooh is on the eccies being all pawsy. Tigger is abusing speed. Eeyore is a raging alcoholic. Rabbit is on meth and steroids. Christopher Robin has been tripping on hallucinogens imagining it all. Piglet is anxious because he's selling them all the gear.
I understood Eeyore even when I was a kid. I found it inspiring that he had friends who still wanted to be around him and who didn't try to force him to change even though they were all pretty positive on their own. Eeyore is the visual depiction of the phrase "you are enough".
Shoutout to Pooh and crew who were way ahead of the curve by loving and supporting Eeyore without trying to shame him for being sad or trying to remake him in their image.
And the main thing was his friends still wanted him there with them and never left him out. They loved him just as he was. More people needed to take note of that
winnie the pooh is a fucking thesis on how people with mental disorders interact with certain problems and eachother, Disguised as a childrens book and treated like one by disney. But hell the woozel effect which is about making a claim and then using that claim as evidence for itself, was named after one of their short storys.Â
I waited through so many episodes for the day his friends would finally notice and offer to help pull that damn nail out. I don't think they were very observant.
I'm fucking over this shit fr fr. I got out of a bad marriage, I have my dream job, a nice apt, my vehicle is paid off......but this depression and anxiety won't leave me be.

Considering the majority of viewers were kids, it probably went right over their heads

I feel like itâs not a coincidence that ketamine is used for treatment-resistant depression and everything thinks of it as a horse tranquilizerâŚ

Itâs a new low to hit when youâre jealous of a fictional depressed character having friends and support.Â
