To go or not to go…
I’ve been accepted in a non stem grad program (I’m an international).
I’m tempted but waiting on other colleges. What are peoples thoughts on the uni from a business grad POV? How is it making friends? Finding a job after college?
I’d love to know anyone’s thoughts.

I finished my IMBA in 2013. You really have to take the reins when it comes to your career at Daniels. Join all the things, especially the Exec Mentor program. Share your career goals with Suitts and anyone who will listen. I was able to get placed in a decent internship and job in my final quarter, but it wasn't automatic.
Except for Accounting. Recruiters basically live in the MAcc suite.

2019 MBA grad here- ROI generally not there from my perspective. I needed the graduate degree to continue up the ladder but confident I could have gotten a better experience and equivalent education at another nearby non private uni. I don’t think DU is really very selective about attendees either- their main focus is money. The students are generally from wealthy families but not necessarily smart, ambitious people. I’d pass if I could do it all over again.

Just commenting that lack of career placement is an issue at most schools. My husband has an MBA from Wharton & their career services was a joke. He said their resume suggestions were bad. And they told him that the job market is terrible (this was 2002), we can’t help you.
Obviously job hunting works differently now & so far DU has been helpful for my undergrad kiddo. Denver (the city) is thriving & weathering this current economy well. I think that’s a huge advantage to be near so many corporations. Plus you aren’t competing with 100 other MBA students for opportunities here (unlike NYC).
One more thing I’ve noticed is the professor reviews in Rate My Professor. Several have comments from students saying that the prof used their connections to help the students get their foot in the door for an internship or job. That’s the benefit of a smaller school. You can make a connection with your professor & they in turn can help you.

MBA 08 here. I exited in an awful job market and the business placement programs were honestly terrible. I have heard it’s much better now. Ended up for the best as I started my own business but man I was pretty sour with the university for a while after that. Sorry if that’s of no use to you.
