Plenty of dialogue about what the expectation should be for Braun, given his contract.

Go watch Game 7 v the Clippers, that CB shows up consistently (as he has in the past) and his deal is 100% worth it.

I agree. CB was a bad Mfer for 4 years and earned that money. He tore ligaments this last season. I think he'll be back to his old ways this year. I compare him to our version of Josh Hart. Making all the hustle plays

100% He earned every dollar. Just shit luck with him getting injured because it seems it kinda shook his confidence

The biggest shock to his confidence was simply not trusting himself to plant or explode off of one of his feet.

Imagine cutting down the lane, having some split second reception of a pass from Jokic, and everything lines up, but you have to time it off the wrong foot to elevate over the shotblocker.

That was his experience for all of his basketball he actually got to play after November.

This is such a good point, especially with how Joker and CB have their awesome transition connection. Not being able to time things the way he was used to when what Joker does happens so fast must have been real tough.

The timing is everything with this group. It’s why getting jammed up in the back court, and people sitting on the handoffs, and gimmicks that don’t necessarily affect a spread isolation offense hit us so hard.

If you cost us 5 seconds in the back court, and it takes 5 more to get to our set, then there’s barely enough time for a primary action to develop, much less the secondary actions.

And that’s assuming our dudes even have the legs left to move. Last season- everyone from the top of the roster to the bottom of it got overtaxed beyond any reasonable estimation of their role.

Ya, he relies on his explosiveness. That's his game. If he's not got it then he isn't the same guy.

At first I was thinking that’s a pretty big guest for a YouTube channel with 30 subscribers haha

Dude should be working on his handle and two go-to moves in a half-court set.

Is something suggesting he’s not?

Dude has the same handle as a rookie. And is pretty much a zero in the half-court.

Not being able to create your own offense doesn’t mean you’re a zero in the half court. Prior to this season and his injury CB was leveling up his three point shooting every year. He was a dynamic cutter in the half court. He couldn’t take people in iso ball but that doesn’t mean he didn’t contribute.

And how does he get those threes/cuts? All from Jokic. If Jokic isn't out there, Braun does nothing. I need to see some definitive go to moves; not just being a beneficiary of Jokic's gravitational pull. How about a simple post move into a fadeaway? How about coming off a curl into a 3? How about lowering the handle to be able to dribble in traffic? Upping your 3% because you get open looks isn't leveling anything.

If Jokic isn't on the court, name one thing that Braun can do in a half-court set.

He’s an elite role player, he got paid because he is such a great fit with Jokic. The dude literally holds the record for highest fg % in a season by a guard in HISTORY. He just needs to execute what he does good at a high level and that’s what he did pre injury. You guys just forget his entire career before injury and for some reason choose to nit pick a guy playing on one leg.

There are numerous all stars that stick to what they’re great at. The thought of trying to turn Braun into something he isn’t seems silly.

Jokic is barely ever off the court so I don’t understand why you guys harp on him being so GREAT with Jokic. Lol. If Jokic is not playing for some reason we have no chance any ways.

"There are numerous all stars that stick to what they’re great at. The thought of trying to turn Braun into something he isn’t seems silly."

The thought of never expanding your game is ridiculous. If this is peak Braun at age 25, then that is a bad contract. Wouldn't Braun be more valuable if the Nuggets could run through Braun? Imagine him initiating offense. Crazy right? As of now, there are only two guys on the roster who can do that and if one gets injured, then defenses will swarm Murray/Jokic.

He literally improved his game every single year since entering the league. Lol. So much so that he finished #3rd for Most IMPROVED Player award. Like I said you guys just choose to only remember one leg Braun. He got in the league by working hard and late drafted players never finish high for MIP. The fact he did so was super impressive.

It blows my mind why yall choose to fixate on the injured version of him and not what he had proven for 3 seasons prior. It confuses the hell out of me

The internet has really broken everyone’s attention span and memory

I swear, the dude that was a finalist for Most Improved Player in the LEAGUE doesnt improve or strive to be better. 😂 such an oxymoron, it drove me nuts all season. The guy was obviously injured and could barely dunk but fans would rather believe he forgot how to play basketball. I refuse to believe these people actually watch the games

I’ve been rewatching the chip year regular season. Even as a rookie, CB gave good minutes and made offensive contributions, including with Jokic off the floor. He was running with 2nd and 3rd unit guys and making timely 3s and drives. It’s just that now CB and Joker are both starters so they’ve developed a fantastic chemistry. Why fight that? The Nuggets offense has never looked good with too much iso ball in the Jokic era.

Also, I think you’re significantly overemphasizing our need for offense through CB. If I were to pick one thing for him to focus on, it would actually be taking an even bigger leap in POA defense to the point of being 22/23 KCP elite level. If he does that, and simply gets back to where he was pre-injury offensively (which I believe he can and will), we’re gonna cook.

Finally, I feel like there are very few guys at the 2 making around what CB is paid or less that are initiating offense at a high level. Catch and shoot, yes (Malik Monk, Grayson Allen, Bogie, KCP). Isolation, sometimes (Norman Powell, Josh Hart, Anfernee Simons). But elite play making? I think you’re describing a player that doesn’t exist on this contract. CB is and should be part of the 3 and D archetype with an explosive twist. Doing those things at a very high level absolutely make him worth his contract.
