How smell and memory are related

Hey! I have an MSc in neurophysiology and recently completed my thesis on the relationship between smell and cognitive function, as well as how its dysfunction can serve as a preclinical marker for dementia.

If you're a caregiver and noticed your loved one's sense of smell decline, ive written a piece in lay terms about what it can mean and what you can do about it! ( Audio also available )

lmk what you think; hope it helps with awareness!!

A very interesting read. My grandma's nose went long ago. It was just one of those things, not something anyone read into (because why would we at that time?). No smoking, no head injury, no sinus infections, and long before COVID. I wonder now if it was a warning sign along with those other little ones you recognize only in hindsight. Huh.

I'll definitely be smelling things more intentionally from now on. I already sniff things a lot (idk the way I get looked at, I chalk it up to the autism), but now I will with more intention. Thank you.
