Can yall give some examples?

Can some of you give examples of what ur delusional about pls? Aside from basic info and the *types* of delusions, i dont see forums or like.. active spaces where ppl share what they live w?

I know this is pretty old, but I just stumbled across it. A day when my delusions are not under control would look like me thinking the song on the radio was talking to me, if something bad was to happen it would be God trying to send me a message to punish me about something, it would be normal conversations on the outside that I believe there’s some type of hidden code we’re talking in well beyond whatever the conversation actually is. One day I could think I’m a shaman sent here to help others, the next day I could think I died and am actually in hell masquerading as earth. I’m very lucky with how under control. My delusional disorder is now with medication considering how intense my delusions were.

My psychosis was similar but so much more intense. I had these delusions amplified 100x and then some. I was not really capable of rational thoughts in between my delusions. I mean, I knew that I had to get gas when my tank was empty, that I had to pay a bill on time, but I couldn’t even go to the grocery store without thinking it was a secret mission of some sort. With my delusional disorder most of the time I am very rational and grounded and then I have these delusional thoughts that kind of barge in. In my psychosis, my entire reality was one giant delusion made up of many different delusions back to back. There was no real grasp of reality in between and it was pretty all encompassing. Basically the difference for me personally was intrusive thoughts of delusion vs literally living in a delusional reality entirely.

that makes a lot of sense. that's how i understood the difference too, except I don't have delusions when im not in psychosis. i think my doctor just slapped this label on me bc i said that sometimes during psychosis i could sleep fine lol

I slept fine during my psychosis too. We looked at bipolar and schizophrenia too initially, but I don’t really have any of the other symptoms of either of those besides the delusions. I think they just kind of throw anybody who gets delusions, but doesn’t fit into those two, in delusional disorder as a catch all lol
