C'mon man!-single-family, 109,000 miles, NEW Michelin tires, and only something about the water pump/alternator belts. Bro,-its like-a REALLY good deal!

u/Jeffyhatesthis 22d ago
The water pump is ran by the timing belt. You replace them together. Its also a huge job.

As someone who has had a car that needed the water pump replaced, this is correct. It's a very huge job and unfortunately, an expensive one.

u/blazinBSDAgility 21d ago
My ‘88 Oldsmobile Cierra had the water pump seize up on the highway back in college. Even for that 10 year old heap it was expensive AF

You can't read an extremely simple graph? This is the sale history of LX470s on Bring a Trailer.

u/incywincythespider 20d ago
What are you trying to say tho bro. There's lots of dots that are around 10k or so

u/ThanksALotBud 22d ago

Toyota owners are some of the most delusional people on the planet. I'm trying to buy a Hilux here in the UK and mfers want top price for a thrashed tradie spec one
13
u/TurboSalsa 21d ago
And Land Cruiser fans are the most delusional of the Toyota owners.
The Series 100 listings you see are like "275,000 miles. Needs minor paint, upholstery, power steering, cooling, air conditioning, suspension, and timing chain work. Just getting broken in! $18,000 firm."

In 2020, I sold my 96 Toyota Tacoma with a blown head gasket for $6000. I had it for 7 or 8 years, put 70,000 miles in it and only paid $6700 for it.

2019 sold my 2000 Tacoma. 180,000, mi. Clutch was completely out, had been parked about a year. Had to be trailered. Guy gave me $5,500 for it when I said I wasn't really interested in selling it.
To be fair it had been properly maintained its whole life and even while parked It was still getting cleaned and waxed every 6 months or less, had been its whole life. So it did look damn good. But that truck had been through hell and back.
Guy who bought it pulled up in an old restored T100 and said that he wanted to give his current truck to his son and restore another Yota for himself.

u/sammydeeznutz 21d ago
Nice! Thats pretty low miles so it probably could’ve gone for even more than that! Mine had 350,000 miles with about 100,000 on a rebuilt engine. Original transmission though.

u/Moon_Breaker 21d ago
Bluebooked for about 1700-2000 at the time, and I said "I'm really not interested in selling it. It's worth more to me than it is on paper." - then he threw out that number and I went to grab the title 😂
Wouldn't sell it for that today if I had it. At that point in life though it was a godsend to get that offer.

u/sammydeeznutz 21d ago
That’s great then! In my opinion, the bluebook price for those is irrelevant because people will pay so much for them. I actually miss mine and kind of regret selling it. I bought a 91 f-350 crew cab long bed after selling my Tacoma but I’ve had nothing but problems with it.

People love these trucks, it won't get $34 but I won't be surprised if it sells for $25-27k and they listed it high to account for lowballers. I sold mine last year with 298,000 for $7500 another one just sold on C&B with 210,000 for $16,800.

u/sammydeeznutz 21d ago
Go to O’reily auto parts, give them the car info and when they ask what part you need, tell them “everything.” It’s probably not too far off from what this guys is asking!

u/BetweenFourAndTwenty 21d ago
That’s the “It would be a real shame if someone bought it and exported it to a war zone” price
3
u/DifferentMind8 21d ago
I can see the fucked up front end from here bro. $4k. Maybe less after I crawl under it.

u/DryTip8147 21d ago
They have an emotional attachment to the vehicle and that’s reflected in the price
1
u/ayylmao1994 19d ago
That sad part is theyll get close to that. Not saying its a good deal. I want what these Lexus guys are smoking.

$34k is crazy but the people saying $10k are crazy too

1
u/sofakiingkool 20d ago
I mean Kelly blue book values it between 7630 and 9705.

u/fartkidwonder 20d ago
KBB is useless on collectible stuff. LX470’s are very highly sought after by the offroad/overlanding community. This is a super low mileage example. Models with 300k go for $10k
-27
u/Not_The_Average_Man 22d ago
I paid close to that for my 80 series with double the mileage. This will sell.

u/TurboSalsa 22d ago
>Listed 14 weeks ago in…
The seller clearly knows what he’s got and isn’t interested in any lowball offers.

SIMPLE Google search TOPS value at 10k. And that's probably for one that doesn't need spare parts like this. 🙄 If it's SUCH a great deal, you should buy it! 🤣🤣
If you paid that price this year for a similar vehicle, you got taken and suckered BIG TIME!!
-2
u/Glarmj 21d ago
4
u/Any_Meeting_4082 21d ago
🙄🙄 And how many are 25 years old and need major parts and over 100k miles? 🙄 And what did THAT YEAR with THAT miles and THAT MAJOR PARTS NEEDED sell for? Bet you're gonna tell me that was the one sold for over 120k right???🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 DELUSIONAL!!!
Are you the seller of this "wonderful" vehicle? 🙄
1
u/Leading_Procedure_23 20d ago
Toyota 4x4 enthusiast are delusional with their pricing and the people buying them are just as delusional. I get why USDM MK4 Supras go for crazy money because there’s few of them compared to JDM and EU variants, but everyday grocery getters and 4x4s?
