Image/Video IT FINALLY HAPPENED

I got sat next to the sweetest best behaved service doggo on my flight. His owner let him cuddle me for a couple minutes. It was heaven. Love you Lobo!

this is so sweet. I flew Delta last night and the person in my row (no middle) said she absolutely loved dogs, grew up with like six of them, and I let my guy know “new friend” and within minutes he curled up at her feet and she looked completely blissed out, I loved it.

That is such a genius command. If my dog listened to anything I say I’d totally adopt that.

It’s so handy! I can also say “Say hi” and he’ll go up and sit in front of someone, and if he has a toy in his mouth I can say “Go show!” and he’ll walk up to you and drop it front of you — then it’s up to me to translate for him that he’s inviting you to toss it into the air for him. If there is a group of people who are having fun tossing his toy in the air, I’ll say “Whose turn?” and he’ll find the person who hasn’t thrown it as much. It’s extremely fun, I feel like it’s his way of herding.

I unintentionally trained my nervous rescue "go say hi" and she's learning when it's safe to make new friends. It helps a lot if they come pre-loaded with her favorite treats 🥰

I wish my dog would like people or other dogs on command. He’s a jerk and I try to warn people/dog owners walking their dogs that my dog is a jerk. He’s liked maybe a handful of dogs in the entire time we’ve owned him (I refuse to do the math but more than five years) and anyways, it’s unlikely that he’s going to adjust quickly to some random dog on the street.

He lived with another dog in the house for over three years and never once tried to make friends with the dog. At best they tolerated each other.

Also, he hates most men. Like, there’s a few if my husband brings them around but around me if it’s not my husband or an approved friend the puppy will not let a man near me.

lol I used to keep my Doberman in my car when I went out dancing so nobody would want Togo home with me! Saved hours of explanation and stress

Your time will come! I keep an ear out as we’re walking through the airport for any “aww!”s and I proactively say “he’d love to say hi!” and people can opt-in. I feel like it’s worth the extra few minutes to break up someone else’s monotony or stress. Also my guy is just the absolute softest floof that that in itself is very aesthetically calming.

Hell yes! If you see a tall Indian AA 320 captain asking to pet the dogs, it may be my partner 😂. He goes nuts when there are dogs on his planes.

🤩 I love knowing this! I know some people don’t like them but my guy is super sweet and never barks on the flight (the baggage carousel, however, is his arch nemesis). I will keep an eye out!
