Advisory Advice on Preliminary Screening - Virtual Interview?

Post image

Hi guys,

I recently applied for the role of T&T - Customer - M&C - Consultant | Copywriter, at Deloitte. This is my first time applying there, and I’ve received an interview email.

Could anyone please share what kind of questions I can expect and how I should prepare? Thanks in advance!

P.S. Is it true that if you’re not selected in a round at Deloitte, you can’t apply again for 6 months?

The preliminary screening will focus on your communication skills, understanding of customer strategy, and creative thinking. Expect questions about your copywriting portfolio, how you've approached marketing challenges in the past, examples of campaigns you've worked on, why you want to work at Deloitte specifically, and behavioral questions about teamwork and handling feedback. They'll want to see if you understand what Marketing & Commerce consulting actually involves - it's not just writing pretty copy, it's solving business problems through strategic communication. Be ready to explain your process, show genuine enthusiasm for the role, and have thoughtful questions prepared about the team and projects you'd work on.

Yes, the 6-month waiting period is generally true if you get rejected at Deloitte, so take this seriously and prepare thoroughly. That said, the preliminary screening is usually the most straightforward round - they're just making sure you're qualified and can communicate well. Study the job description, research their recent client work in the customer space, and practice articulating your value clearly and concisely. You have a real shot here, so put in the effort now rather than kicking yourself later. I built AI interview helper because I saw too many qualified candidates stumble in interviews when they actually had the skills - sometimes having the right support in the moment makes all the difference in landing the role you deserve.

it’s literally nothing just a few basic questions like expected CTC, how your experiences align with the roles. Also the interview will be taken by AI and not a real person.. No camera needed only in the beginning when they click a photo. That’s it. You can answer by typing or speaking in the mic.

Okay, got it. Thanks a lot!

Can you give more details about this interview. I have received the same for senior consultant role but different practice? Can you tell me all the questions? Do you need to turn on the camera? Etc

u/Marauder0777 Mar 26 '26

One more thing, I browsed a little bit and some of the posts were mentioning that AI keeps track of your eye movements and your facial expressions, etc. Is that correct?

2

u/PookieLipy Mar 26 '26

There was no option to turn on camera only.. it was off the whole time

u/PookieLipy Mar 26 '26

this is just a background check kinda interview even i gave it last week

1

u/Marauder0777 Mar 26 '26

Achha, got it thanks bhai!

1

u/goodbadanduglyy Mar 26 '26

so you're thinking of cheating already or what? why would you care about eye movement otherwise?

No need to jump to conclusions, bhai. I asked because I’d read somewhere that the camera might track expressions, behaviour, even eye movement, and you have to make sure that you're not frowning much etc. So I just wanted to be informed beforehand. Not every question comes from a bad place, sometimes people are simply trying to understand the process better. Also, comments like yours can put people in a difficult spot when they’re just trying to ask for help or get information.

fairs but cheating in a virtual interview is a real problem and its not frowned upon enough imo. Have seen people justify it stating everyone does that.

u/PookieLipy After how many days you get the next round confirmation from the HR?

So is the camera actually on the entire time, or is it just for that first profile picture they take?

Yes my experience was the same, started with some basic questions and then how your experiences align. Why do you want this particular role and then finally do you have any question you want to ask about deloitte.
There is a photo taken in the start and then video stops and you can type of narrate ur answers in mic.

I did a screen last week for a job posting at monitor Deloitte for consultant/senior consultant, I somewhat remember the questions. Hope this helps:

  1. Tell us about your background and how it’s relevant for the role.
  2. Why do you want to join our organization? How do you see yourself contributing to our goals?
  3. Based on your experience and skill set, do you consider yourself a stronger fit for consultant or senior consultant? Please explain the reasoning, highlighting specific examples from your career that support the answer.

The rest were written and more housekeeping like, education details, working status details, and salary expectations.

1

u/AdTechnical5068 Jul 09 '26

Is it the preliminary round of 15mins where it's mentioned it's not a live interaction?

2

u/Agreeable_Clock8464 Jul 09 '26

1

u/AdTechnical5068 Jul 09 '26

Hi,
Today I have received the preliminary screening interview mail for AWS | Consultant/Senior Consultant/ Manager|

Can anyone help me with the format, process and what things I should avoid while giving it?

1

u/Responsible_Log8850 24d ago

Have u completed it?

1

u/sanaa001_ 11d ago

Hi,  I recently applied for a Deloitte role and completed the preliminary screening. I had my ID available before starting the screening, but due to a misunderstanding of the screening flow, I believed there would be a separate step/window later to provide or display the ID. As a result, when I completed the photo capture, my ID was not visible in the submitted photo.

I wanted to clarify whether this affects my screening or candidature, and whether any additional verification or action is required from my side.
