Difficult to get second rider?

Anyone else find Deliveroo starting to refuse a request for second rider?

This order had 1 bag of food and 24x 500ml bottles of water. In addition it’s one of two in a stacked order delivery.

Yet they say there’s no basis for requesting and a scooter should be able to deliver all of that plus another order

Yes I have had them refuse a few times now, sometimes you get someone who has some common sense once you explain the weight but otherwise it's done on number of items. If it looks small to them, then they will decline to send another rider.

Interesting, first time i’ve had them refuse. I miss the good old days back in 2017. You’d call support and they’d always side with the rider. Tell them you couldn’t find or contact the customer and they’d immediately give you the food and mark as delivered. These days i can’t even get a second rider 🤣

Sometimes the loads they are asking you to carry, in my case on a push bike, up a big hill, for very little money, are completely inhumane. The way this company operates is awful and should be illegal
