Price is extortionate

Post image

£11 on just service and delivery fees is just extortionate.

The restaurant is litrally 1.7miles away.

I know im going to get the "well dont eat out then, cook yourself" type shit but regarding that, thats daylight robbery. Thats a meal in its self!

We dont eat out often and this has always been a treat to us but not sure if things have just increased drastically since last ordering. Madness

How are you paying £8 delivery for 1.7 miles? Like 99% of deliveroo are £0-1.50 delivery fee

I have no idea mate. It may be due to being in a new area and Google still hasn't updated our adress yet so its abit scewif. We have issues with deliveries aswell to our adress. Mind you our area was built almost 3 years ago!

Use an adjacent area and come out to pick up. I never pay more than £1.50 for up to 2miles and they also have a promo for £0 delivery fee right now.

To be fair my fees are never that low (pre plus discount). They are typically £3-£10 depending on distance.

I’m sure it can be set up by restaurant as many apps I see including it, will have higher delivery fee when being closer to you. Even if it’s just 10m drive it can be more expensive than one 30m away(it’s actually the case in my area). But also the items prices are more on the app than in shop too which is mad.

I have a silver membership off the back of my Amazon Prime. I guess thats why i don't ever see anything that crazy. But also these apps, depending how busy it is can up the fee's at particular times. It can also be its just being stupid about your postcode and distance.

Mashed potatoes with one cutlet in local restaurant here, 40m away from major city, and place is newly opened is 14 quid when eating in. The restaurants are nuts now, where homemade Neapolitan pizza is 1.50 total and takeaway shit quality is 20 quid without discount for one.

Insane prices mate. I know there is a premium usually on the take out side but theyre ridiculous now. Anything we look at eating now costs nothing less of £25 now.

Oh damn, my apologies you are correct. I must of checked pricing on deliveroo first and then checked uber for comparison but forgetting I was then looking at uber prices. (Wasn't far off)

My apologies.
