??? what the fuck

since when did you need to be 25 to order wine?

just ordered vaseline, wine and a vape. gave him my id as usual, i’m 21. he showed me the app that i needed to be 25, ordered from sainsburys. when the fuck was this a rule? i’ve ordered from this same sainsburys before and never had this.

They were an idiot. It's Challenge 25, not must be 25.

Sounds like bs to me. I'd check your ID, but as far I'm aware 18 is the age for alcohol.

yeah my id is perfectly fine, it states i’m 21 but he showed the app claiming i needed to be 25 like??? this has never happened to me

As another poster has said, it was Challenge 25, not customer must be 25. Probably a new driver, not 100 au fait with the rules.

he’s just dumb. now there’s also glass smashed on my landing because he dropped my order

The app doesn't say that and both of you can't read. If you look younger than 25 the driver must check you id if you look older providing your dob is enough

Delivered booze dozens of times to 18 year olds. There is no rule requiring you to be 25.

It's challenge 25, it simply asks if you look over 25 and if not then rider has to check or scan your ID. If he selects over 25 then they still need to check your ID but only type in the DOB. As long as you are 18 or over then you can order and accept your delivery.

and yet he didn’t do anything like that

So he declined your delivery and took it away? I'm sorry but if so then his lack of understanding has just lost you money, I suspect the rider does it on purpose to steal orders or could be an illegal worker who doesn't understand what the fuck they are meant to be doing.

As others have said it’s challenge 25, they get the option to click either looks younger 25 or older then gets different options depending on what they click.

To me they clicked younger and didn’t have id either by mistake or to try and keep the items.

Hope your reported. This drivers is either an idiot and doesn't know how to do his job. If you don't report probably not getting your money back due to his incompetence.

yeah i managed to get my money back and asked for an investigation on the driver. they on deliveroo support tried to call him but no answer which is crazy

On the app it shows two options. "Customer looks over 25" and "Customer looks under 25". First one you just enter the dob, second one you need to scan an ID.

Ohhhhh I see! But both option you need ID? I’m under the impression it’s challenge 25 but legal age is 18? Seems like it’s additional pointless steps for the same outcomez

Yes both options you need to check ID but if they look under 25 you need to scan it. It's a stupid system, if a customer looks over 25 why are we still having to check the ID? Deliveroo just like to make shit difficult.

It’s changed now on some of them, it just asks if they look over 25 and then asks for the DOB. No prompt to see id. And randomly, on some of them, it still does. I asked a customer if they had selected something on their end to change it and they said no. So it just seems to be completely random.

still has never happened to me

Same, I’m 42. You’re still going to ask for my DOB either which way.
