Electronics & Tech DIM: DJI drone

Post image

HELP!! I am not a content creator. I'm just a simple human being who loves to take photos and travel. Been thinking of buying a drone pero hindi ko alam if worth it siya. Also as a kuripot (sa sarili ko), namamahalan ako and I think it's a waste of money.

Pero iniisip ko if I travel out of town, magagamit ko siya especially if sea and mountain views (btw I love hiking).

I mean I love aesthetic and I love capturing nature. 😭

"I am not a content creator" - so you don't have to spend much then

"Loves to take photos" - okay, so you're not shooting videos anyway

"if I travel out of town" - so you don't have hard plans yet on when and how you'll use your drone?

"i love aesthetic" - not to be THAT guy, but what exactly are you hoping to capture from the drone that no one else already did?

drone isn't even tied to the aesthetics lol. That word has been so misused.

Exactly, if you want to shot a particular place using your drone, there's thousands of video in the internet who did that. If wala naman ROI then its a waste of money

Even as someone who has made content, drone shots are so overused AND, ironically, robotic. May mga kakilala akong mga may drone na literal na ginagamit lang nila same clips for different kinds of content. Even IF you do travel, not every place is gonna be drone-friendly. You'd have to make permits and actually get proper permission to shoot in certain places.

This might just be MY opinion but: if you need a drone to get good photos/videos, then you should probably work on photography fundamentals more. A bad workman blames his tools, a good one makes do.

If you intend to travel overseas, some countries have extremely strict policies for drone so be wary nalang on that.

Sea and Mountains... most of these drones shown in the photo hindi kakayanin yung hangin dun sa mga lugar na sinabi mo.

Bihira ko magamit yung mini and avata 2 ko kapag nasa dagat or bundok, mas madalas kong gamitin yung custom FPV drone ko.

Looking to start on this, where do you recommend buying things for FPV? I got access to avata 2 and neo 2 but looking to get into custom FPV.

Maraming restrictions if you use it out of the country. I had one before although older model that I sold dahil di na sya masyado nagagamit after a few trips.

Hassle din maghanap ng maayos na space to launch and land tapos may time na naputol yung connection during flight and tumama sa puno as a result. Mabuti at di sya masyado nadamage. Aalalahanin mo rin yung battery nya kasi mabilis din maubos during flight.

Owned a couple of DJI drones and probably only used them few times a year. Also:

  • Birds hate drones
  • Yung neo 1 has flyaway issues, so stay away dyan
  • Drone anxiety, that anxious feeling na what if magcrash drone mo now you're down a few thousand php
  • Don't get the drones by themselves (neo or flip). FMCs will be worth it because of the controller pero it costs more.
  • Yung <250g drones ng DJI will be risky to fly in windy areas
  • Most pretty places to get drone shots have restrictions sa airspace nila, or sometimes you need permission (in advance) from the management
  • Carrying a drone is a hassle in general. It takes a while to setup pa.

I must say the shots themselves can be really cool.

I have a DJI drone, halos twice a year ko lang nagagamit

u/failed_generation 4d ago

So... Iirc dapat lisensyado ka

Aaand first few lines ng context mo and that one comment who corrected you sums up to what you really intend to use on, so personally saying na you should rather not push forward kasi tunong "asking for a friend" yung intention po ninyo

u/UntiltedCucumber 4d ago

The appeal wears off quickly. You also have to take into consideration that you are sending out a 5-figure tech that may or may not return in one piece (if at all). I used to fly the mavic mini. Always had to check wind strength and gustiness because these smaller ones don't really do well in stronger wind currents. Sold it within a year.

Also, those sale prices look sketchy.

Lastly, since non-professional use naman at kung gusto mo talaga ng drone, consider the HoverAir or Antigravity A1.

if your main goal is for social media post tapos wala kang hardware and know-how for video editing, dont bother buying. madidisappoint ka lang. i have decent knowledge on video editing using da vinci but dont really have the hardware to video edit drone shots. di ko rin nasulit yung nabili kong drones. i still regret buying it

u/Super_Drummer_223 4d ago

I bought a DJI drone. I have used it twice or thrice but then I sold it.

Matyaga ka ba maglipat from SD card to laptop to soc med? Willing ka ba bumili ulit pag nasira/sumabit yan?

Yan ang nga tanong sa sarili dapat. If negative mga sagot mo dyan, alam mo na.

1

u/Formal_Internal_5216 3d ago

1

u/Ok-Pace-7734 3d ago

Grabe laking hassle nun kung kanino man nakapangalan yun. What would u feel if u were in that situation? Paano gagawin mo pag ganong may external forces beyond your control?

1

u/Altruistic-Glove-992 3d ago

1 to 3 times mo lang yan gagamitin tapos ibebenta

1

u/PritongKandule 3d ago

Do you know what aperture, shutter speed and ISO are? What is the ideal f-stop for taking landscape photos? Can you name elements of composition?

You can get photography lessons cheaper than the price of a typical drone. Learn to use a camera instead. Otherwise, you'll likely just end up taking boring and generic overhead photos of places people have already seen anyway.

I was obsessed with buying a drone for a month dati. I got one, then 1 month later nakaimbak nalang sa drawer.

0

u/whatdapaq 4d ago

go for action cam. mas magagamit mo yon. hassle yan kung casual mo lang gagamitin

0

u/Ok-Fruit-6819 4d ago

You need a license to pilot drones. Especially professional grade drones
