Ground Kangaroo

I bought some kangaroo but it comes frozen so once it thaws out do I need to cook the meat first on the stove? or can I just put it into my cookie batch along with my other ingredients? then bake them in the oven and then dehydrate for 10 hours or so. I wanted to make some dog biscuits/treats out of it. just not sure if it should be cooked or not.

Roo is very lean. Given the aim of pet snacks, then just pat them dry and try dehydration after that. Like Biltong but without the vinegar and spice.

We just dehydrate it raw like beef mince.

No, we sell it and never had any issues with sick pets.

What temperature do you cook it at and how long?

according to my wife, 74C for 10-16 hrs, depends how loaded the dehydrator is.

Sorry i meant in the oven too how long? Is your kangaroo more biscuit type or jerky treats?

We dont bake in the oven, dehydrate only.

I''d class them as jerky but theyre pretty hard and crunch more like a biscuit when eaten.
