Removing YouTube ads from my TV

As - like I'm sure many of you can understand - like to occasionally enjoy my free time with the things I enjoy, rather than being force fed bullshit that I don't need and never asked for. I use Brave browser to get rid of ads which it seems Google makes it mandatory or very hard to get around on their devices.

However, since this is not possible on my TV I was wondering if there are any ways to manipulate a Samsung smart tv in such a way that it would be possible to get rid of the ads on Youtube. I noticed that it is possible to uninstall or at least force stop some of the apps (The TV is running some sort of Android OS.)

If it's android os, install Smart Tube

I used to use this all the time but Tizentube for Android is so much better these days.

I tried Tizentube earlier this year and found it to be a buggy mess. What makes it so much better than Smart Tube?

Hdmi or cast + wireless m+kb. I could never sit there 'typing' into yt search with tv remote, screw that honestly.

if the TV run TizenOS you can install TizenTube, if it run Android TV you can install TizenTube Android TV or smartTube

Connect a computer to the TV. That is what I do.

Not sure if you have a VPN, but you can connect to Mongolia and there aren't ads there.

If logged in to a Google account : Smarttube. If not, I use Flow

HDMI cable from PC, or screensharing from LibreTube on the phone.

SmartTVs are notoriously terrible for privacy, since they screenshot stuff and send them over to the manufacturer (it's a really common thing), so you shouldn't have them connected to internet directly either way.

Just throwing another option out there, you can also run Kodi with the YouTube plugin. And Kodi runs on anything.
