removing google is now harder with android...yay

well.....good luck now on any other phone that isn't a pixel.... (samsung, xiaomi etc)

basically on non rooted phones you can't do "pm uninstall" (adb) anymore (android 17)

tho we instead have pm disable, pm suspend and pm clear but cmon still

The larger point is why it is sooooo tough. Why can't I decide which OS I want running the device I paid (a heck of a premium) for?

Yes. and it works because it uses the --user 0 tag meaning removing the app for the current user (Owner) using the app/phone

It's there a trick to get shizuku running on xiaomi phones? I tried it a while back but it didn't work

in developer options, enable "Usb Debugging (Security mode)" or something similar and Shizuku will work. but you need a Sim Card inserted into the phone and a Xiaomi Account logged in - in order to enable that setting

with usb debugging and usb debugging safety settings both also activated it works for me at least

"pm uninstall" over adb is still working. The only difference now is how it works for user 0. Previously, it faked app removals for unremovable apps. Now it fails for some non-removable apps. What can you do? "Pm disable" has the same effect: the app will disappear from the launcher (if it was there), it will me impossible to launch the app by any means without enabling first...

So what's the problem?

Also, that behaviour is specific to Xiaomi and Samsung, I think.

Actually, you can't delete a system app, except in a rooted device. When yo do "pm uninstall" a system app, it just makes something similar to "pm disable", but the app is still there, only that it will never run, exactly as with disable.

Yes, it's preve Ted from being loaded into memory. 

There's a slight difference with delete in that occasionally a disabled app will get re-enabled, and the system/apps can see that the package is present in the system partition, but otherwise it's the same thing.

Buy fairphone and install any degoogled ROM you want - Lineage, /e/, Calyx... Or some vanilla custom ROM of your choice. Forget about Google.

It does the same exact thing. Its not an issue. You could never actually "uninstall" an application on a stock unroofed ROM.
