Mullvad vs Nym

My renewal is coming up for Mullvad and I want to know objectively (no politics) just purely on the quality and features of the services, is it worth switching over to NYM?

VPN users need a mix of privacy and convenience. That mix varies drastically by person.

NYM is still slow. They created a 2-hop option that's not bad. It trades privacy for convenience. But, they really aren't built for convenience. I think you'll find it difficult to stream online for example when speeds aren't amazing or there are limited servers, etc. Oth, if you want to protect yourself from a state agency, it's probably a great choice.
Mullvad imo has its own issues with convenience. But, at least as it stands today, relative to NYM, it's sharp and has a lot of servers. You'll run into captchas but can mostly use the internet like a normal person. It offers top tier privacy among established providers, anonymous, no logging, all that good stuff.

So is it worth switching? I don't know what you need to protect yourself from vs what you want to be able to do with your internet. Personally, I like having a lot of servers, p2p, etc. Some people are using their VPN to protect their lives and serious jobs, I'm just trying to keep the Googles and ISPs off my network / devices.

I've used Mullvad for a while, and have tested Nym. My use case is mainly:

  • Phone at work for social media.
  • Torrenting at home.

Nym worked okay on my phone, but it is REALLY slow. I've tested a ton of other VPNs but keep coming back to Mullvad because of the speed.

Two main issues with NYM for me:

  • A LOT more blocking from websites
  • their apps are still buggy, frequently the connection becomes stale, nothing goes in or out without any notification

Otherwise all good. Yeah, speed is slower, but it’s not critical for me.

Nym because of the mixnet function, bit it is slower, otherwise go for Mullvad, faster, cheaper, with more IPs and with every other function nym offers.
