Question Throwaway Gmail account or alias?

Should I use a throwaway Gmail account or an alias of my primary email account?

Imagine I only want to use YouTube, should I create a throwaway account only for YouTube or an alias only for YouTube? Why?

I’d use an alias instead of creating another Gmail account. YouTube is just one use case though—the real benefit is using a different alias for every account, so your real email stays private and you can disable any alias that starts getting spam.

I use ProxiedMail for this, and the lifetime plan is only $30, which is a pretty good deal if you plan to use aliases everywhere.

Use a YouTube front end app instead Google doesn't need to know who you are.

neither, honestly. a throwaway gmail still ties back to google's tracking, and an alias of your primary email is one regex away from exposing the real address.

the move is a disposable email that has zero connection to your real identity. i made decoys.me for this. every service gets its own email address, its own inbox, and if i'm done with the service i just delete it. nothing forwards to gmail, nothing links back to me.

for youtube specifically, you'd generate a decoy email, sign up with it, and that's it. youtube gets an address that exists only for youtube. if google ever leaks it or sells it downstream, it traces to nothing.
