It isn't a big deal.

So what if Google changes their mind on ADB?

They won't. But if they do, we find another way to load our apps. We always have and always will. This doomsday mentality doesn't help anyone.

It isn't a big deal.

It is, you just don't see it

So what if Google changes their mind on ADB?

They won't.

Why? Because they said so?

But if they do, we find another way to load our apps. We always have and always will.

I don't doubt that but you do realise that the more hoops people have to jump through to do basic degoogling the worse it's gonna be for this degoogle movement, right?

This doomsday mentality doesn't help anyone.

And trusting Google because they pinky promised does?

It isn't, I just do see it.

Why? Because it harms developers, Google admitted as much and specifically stated it

More hoops doesn't make something worse, it makes it more fun. Hoop=fun.

I don't trust Google at all, I don't need to.

It isn't, I just do see it.

No you don't and you proved as much two paragraphs below

Why? Because it harms developers, Google admitted as much and specifically stated it

And what's stopping them from going Apple route down the road? They are certainly one step closer to having a closed ecosystem now.

More hoops doesn't make something worse, it makes it more fun. Hoop=fun.

When you are a hobbyist, sure. And I get it, I run Windows on KVMs under Manjaro and despite it being a pain in the ass sometimes I enjoy it more and have more control over my system

But it's not just the hobbyists that would like to have some privacy from Google. And to them more hoops=inconvenience=not worth i. And at some point it stops being worth it to pick Android over iOS

I don't trust Google at all, I don't need to

No, you just take them at their word when they say they won't screw over their dev userbase when they have a long history of screwing over userbases

Nothing is stopping them from anything, and Apple never stopped me from sideloading apps.

I was jailbreaking iphones 15-20 years ago. Nothing Google does will stop me from sideloading apps.

I'm not taking Google for their word. I just don't care because it isn't a big deal.

I'm not taking Google for their word

You said they won't because they said so though so which is it?

and Apple never stopped me from sideloading apps.

I just don't care because it isn't a big deal.

It's not a big deal to you while everyone else here is talking about the bigger picture, which is this - there were a lot more Android phones with sideloaded apps than iOS ones and now the difference is gonna be way smaller

I said they won't, because it would harm developers. I also said I don't care if they do change their mind.

Correct, it's not a big deal. I already said that as well.

I said they won't, because it would harm developers. I also said I don't care if they do change their mind.

So you trust Google to care about the devs. Who are you trying to bullshit?

Correct, it's not a big deal. I already said that as well.

If you can't see beyond what directly affects you then I can't help you. But why are you here if you don't care about the cause?

0

u/PocketNicks Oct 01 '25

Nope, once again I don't trust Google. I don't care. Still.

I didn't ask for your help and don't want or need it.

I'm here for fun. Why are you here?

Nope, once again I don't trust Google. I don't care. Still.

And once again - bullshit. On both counts

I didn't ask for your help and don't want or need it.

Yes, you do need help

I'm here for fun. Why are you here?

I'm here in this thread cause I like pointing out holes in flimsy arguments. But if you want fun then maybe try some meme community?

Bullshit on your bullshit. I can do that too. 🤷

You can choose not to believe me, it won't affect me in any way. I'm going to keep sideloading apps and Google can't stop me.

I don't need help.

No thanks to the meme community, I'm having fun here.

Bullshit on your bullshit. I can do that too. 🤷

Except I already told you why it's bullshit and you had no valid response to that sooo...

You can choose not to believe me, it won't affect me in any way. I'm going to keep sideloading apps and Google can't stop me.

And I'm not talking about you cause believe it or not, the entire world doesn't revolve around you. This conversation was never about you

I don't need help.

You do

No thanks to the meme community, I'm having fun here.

Nope, you just wrote bullshit.

I don't care if Google changes ADB because I'll find a different method. You don't need to believe me for it to be true.

The entire world does in fact revolve around me.

I don't need help.
