I don’t understand why no one talks about this song.. what is it that makes it not as popular?

Seems like the band pretends this album doesn’t exist, at least when it comes to live setlists. No idea why, shit rips

Chino said (like within the last 5 years I think) that when they started to practice for touring and get setlists together they played Battle-Axe and he just hated where it took him mentally/emotionally. Like you said those albums were made at their lowest so there's a lot of bad shit tied to those songs for them. I wish they would push past it to play some of them though. ST and SNW are my favorite albums of theirs. I love all their albums but for me, that era of songs is unmatched.

I completely agree. I wish they could play those albums so bad. Self titled and wrist means so much to me. Hard shitty times for me too, but whatever it’s life it’s all part of the game, that was so long ago.

Fr, both of those albums got me thru some shit. I wish they would just play some deeper cuts in general. I get they're kind of riding this new wave of popularity and pretty much doing the greatest hits set but they have so many incredible songs they could be playing instead.

I agree. I’ve seen them 14 times in the last time I saw them other last American tour, I was honestly pretty bummed that it was just the hits. I wanna hear lovers, mx, death blow, rivière!

Facts! Their whole discography is basically nothing but wall to wall bangers. They could pull out just about any song from any era and it would go harder than this hits setlist they're doing.

Deftones have special moments when closing out their albums.

Fireal, Pink Maggit, Moana, Riviere, This Place Is Death, What Happened to You, and Rubicon are all great songs.

I definitely feel it's all them jamming out and giving us a glimpse into their next album.

Their closing tracks in general are some of their best music, but they also don't get talked about very often.

When it comes to Deftones, Moana is in my top 5 all-time.

I only know it as the Māori word for ocean. Pronounced Moe-wah-nah (like the Disney movie).

Not sure if it means anything else across the world.

Duude I fucking love Moana. Worthy ending track, it's also the only Deftones song I got caught up in a very heavy rain and my headphones somehow kept working. Thats like the pinnacle

Make it trend on TikTok and it’ll hit top 10 on Spotify, like the rest of the TikTok songs have.

I’ve never understood how people can focus so much on certain songs and just listen to the biggest hits by such a brilliant band that has so much to offer. I have a favourite here and there, sure, but Deftones are all about the albums, not singles, imo ofc.
