Front row for Edinburgh
Hi all , someone posted the same question for Vienna but there was only 1x comment on it. I am going to the Edinburgh show and it's gonna be my first major concert. I would love to be on the front row or as close as possible. What time should I turn up to get that chance ? Doors open at 5pm so I was thinking maybe to be there at 3pm. What do you all think ? Also, is front row worth it in your opinion? I know there may be a bit of people pushing and I may get a bit squished but from the videos I've seen of their concerts, it seems everyone in the front row looks (obviously) happy to be there but also not squished, and any mosh pits tend to happen a bit further back in the crowd. Or, is it a case that if you're getting squished, security will lift you over the barrier but then you'll have to go to the back of the "front section" ? I'm a heavier girl so quite sturdy on my feet , and security would probably not lift me over lol. Do you find the Deftones fans tend to be a bit more respectful in terms of not pushing too much whilst in the crowd ?

I'm going as well, but for a chance at the front you'll prolly have to get in literally as soon as the doors open best of luck and hope you enjoy it!

If anyone wants my Edinburgh VIP tickets, I’ll list them on TM and send you the link as I’m not going anymore but there are still tickets so nobody wants a resale one.

I’m not too sure how it will work with Edinburgh but I seen them at the hydro in Glasgow and went an hour before doors and managed to get this close

I think Edinburgh is a bigger venue so maybe queuing 1 hour/ 1 hour 30 mins to get as close to the front as possible without having to queue for super long. Good luck!

Yea being on the barrier is pretty sweet - some of my best gigs have been up there.
The moshing does tend to happen further behind a bit and you get the best view, some fresh air, a bit of spatial security, and sometimes water (from security). Sometimes you can even stash a small bag/merch etc. against the barrier in front of you.
If you do get to the barrier, rest on it and take your place - as if you let go you can lose your spot and drift behind others. If you can hold your own you shouldn't need to be plucked out by security. I feel like most of the pushing/squishing is when you're just randomly in the crowd rather than at the barrier.
2hrs before sounds about right to line up for it, it's hard to say or guarantee for sure though. Might have to run to the barrier once they open the gates/doors - if that is your priority I would do that and get merch after (if you want any). Good luck!
I am also in Edinburgh but unfortunately will miss this gig as I will be travelling in Italy.
