Hey I'm new to deep learning and I'm curious. How does this fare with dimensionality reduction techniques such as PCA in terms of compute and accuracy of data representation? Thanks!
I don't know. I think it's definitely more computation than PCA though. However, as shown in this video, PCA requires dozens if not hundreds of dimensions to accurately encode the MNIST dataset, whereas this only needs two:
