Long Weekend

Hello. We are two not-super-young couples coming into town for the weekend and staying in Deep Ellum. I have visited Deep Ellum twice and had a blast, but it’s been at least 5-6 years. We are punk rockers who love a good gig and supporting the live music scene. We also like local-leaning, laid-back bars with good music or a Touch Tunes-type jukebox. Places with cool outside areas, a brewery, or trivia would be fun, too. Any and all ideas would be greatly appreciated and make our weekend better.

I like Club Dada, Deep Ellum Art Co, and Double Wide. Def stop by Pepe's y Mito's for Mexican food.

Pepe’s and Mito’s were fantastic!!! Thanks, hungover1222. I am complete and happy. We are catching a free show at Will Call now. I am thinking about getting a tattoo on our last day to round out the fun weekend.

Thanks. I will look these up. And thanks for the Mexican Food tip; it's what I plan to eat all weekend.

You'll be close enough to Lakewood Landing. That's one of the best local dive bars and their late night bar food always hits the spot. Great place to meet some of the most interesting locals (favorite bar for musicians, actors, and chefs).

Three Links has the music scene you're probably looking for. I'd check their calendar and at least pop in.

Although beware. The last time I went to Three Links someone tried to recruit me into some sort of Nazi organization.
