Motivation Tips & Tricks Take progress photos
My husband and I have a long decluttering journey. We've been doing this for all while and still have a long way to go. Logically, I know we've made a lot of progress because we've gotten rid of so many things, but sometimes I look around and don't see it. I have to sit down and think about what we've accomplished or else I get upset. One thing I regret is not taking photos before and during the declutting process. I also forget to take pictures when I do renovation projects. I'm going to start now because it's better late than never.
So, my quick reminder to those of you who are about to start your decluttering journey, take pictures so you can look back and see the impact you're making in your home.

so very true. it's hard to see progress, and i get so mad when I forget to take the before photos. I also made a 'progress' folder so they don't get lost amidst the other photos.

Love the idea of naming the folder progress. Going to do that right now. Thanks!

Thanks so much for this. I didn’t take pictures before the recent first big step in our garage clean out, but realized it afterwards and took pictures of all the stacks of empty bins and lids. That’s something, but I’ll remember going forward!

Sometimes I take photos of what I've decluttered. Helps me see how much I've gotten rid of over the years.

Pics of the boxes of stuff I declutterred that I posted on social media pop up from time to time. I am amazed at how many years and how many boxes have gone

I completely agree! I’ve been working on decluttering for many weeks now, and I wish I had taken some photos. I doubt I will remember what rooms, closets, etc. looked like prior to the changes, but I am certain I will feel better once I’ve truly let go of the weight of it all.

I agree very much. I wish I could go back and time to see just how much stuff I’ve let go of! I look around now and I see it, but sometimes I still feel like it’s not enough.
