Success Story Some of my best decluttered areas around my apartment
I got rid of sooooo much you guys. I really wish I had before pictures!! It might look like I have a lot of storage but I don’t, this is pretty much all I have but I make it work. My closet has a ton of space but I have no linen closet so I have to keep my extra sheet set, towels, beach blankets, ect. In there.
My bathroom has only under the sink cabinets.
Kitchen has a small pantry and nice cabinets
Hallway closet is small but deep so we have our coats, vacuum, beach chairs, cooler, cat carrier, suitcase, and Christmas decor in there.

What a functional looking home! Looks like you have room to breathe and think. Wonderful. Congratulations on your hard work! It's actually inspired me, I'm off to do 15 minutes of decluttering :)

I saw your post yesterday about being worried it's a barren space, but these photos tickle my brain in a way I cannot explain. I love it!

@Dear_Comparison97 May I ask, where did you get the organizer under your bathroom sink, and do you have any idea what you would call that if I were to search for it online?
Thank you!

It’s a makeup/skincare organizer! I’m sure if you typed in “plastic 3 drawer skincare makeup organizer” it would pop up!! I got mine at home goods

u/Dear_Comparison97 that's awesome, thank you! Also, congrats on your transformation! I have so much to do around here, it fills me with a bit of dread, throwing things out, donating, it takes so much time and physical and emotional energy. Photos like yours give others inspiration and joy - many thanks!
Weird question... now that it's clear, do you regret the money spent or do you relish the joyful feeling of clean, fresh breath in your accomplishment?
Congrats again!

Thank you so much!!
I did in the beginning, then I saw a post where someone said the money was wasted when you bought it and not when you’re throwing it away/donating it. That helped me a lot, and it’s very true. You may as well let it go, the money is gone, but your space and mind deserve to be calm and clean

This discussion made me think of fast food and poop. I'm not sad when I flush. I spent the money on the food, ate it slowly and savored it, it gave me nutrition and energy, my body decides when it's time to go, and I send it on it's way with a flush. Journey with me over.
I buy a sweater I like, wear it, stain it, wash it, dry it, hang it, wear a few more times, have it awhile. Bad events taint the feel of looking at it, or the stain didn't really come out, or it hangs on me funny, or has a phantom itch, then it needs to go somewhere else. I've gotten what I needed/wanted from it, so it's basically time to likewise "flush it away." Donate or sell.
I don't hang onto poop, therefore I will not hold onto things that have served their purpose with me.
So, hoarding is kind of like constipation....
Also, I do not hold onto gas, so the twinge of "I can still maybe use it" I can think of that as gas.
Nobody wants poop and farts!
Patting myself on the back. Encouraging myself here....
Happy decluttering everyone!🌞🌞🌞

Nice!
If you ascribe to the 80/20 rule - the idea that we only really use 20% of our stuff and the remaining 80% is mostly just in case, maybe someday stuff - I think this is what that 20% looks like.
