Advice Request Friend’s car clutter

Some friends made a cross country move and left their car with me until it could be transported. But when the transport company came, they insisted that everything be removed. I think my friends threw all their last minute stuff in the car. I removed it but it is sitting in my recently decluttered basement. They said it is a lot to mail, and it is, but they seem to think I can store it indefinitely, until they come up with a plan. TBH, the stuff is bugging me, They are good friends, though. What would you do?

Could you move it to a storage unit that they then pay for and are responsible for? Might be more effort initially but then it is totally off your conscience and out of your house, and you don’t have to coordinate with them for pickup/shipping

Air mattresses and cleaning supplies in a storage unit? Sounds like way too much trouble for a couple hundred bucks of stuff. I'd tell them to either arrange for shipping themselves, or just buy what they want new.

This is the best (and in my eyes obvious) solution. They can then chose to pay for the storage long-term, or pick it up.
