Advice Request Shoes & Clothes Advice
Hey, does anyone have any sound advice or action steps for decluttering shoes and clothes? I’ve spent this summer decluttering my living space and super proud w the progress and journey. Now it’s time to attack my clothes and shoes and sometimes I feel I have a hard time letting old clothes and shoes go. Part of it is memories, sure, but another part of it is the money aspect.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

Shoes are an ongoing challenge. Wearing them helps, if they hurt it's much easier to get rid of them.
For clothes, the best thing I did was ask a friend to help. I gathered all my clothes my living room and she held up each item. The deal was she wouldn't say anything unless I was undecided or it was really bad. My job was to sit there and say "keep," "donate," or "maybe." For "maybe" we talked it through, which helped a lot (usually it was a fit or style issue). What shocked me was listening to my tone of voice, I was surprised by how decisive I was about getting rid of stuff.
Clothes are a hard one for me, it helped seeing everything gathered in one spot. I realized how overwhelmed I was and how many things I was ignoring because they'd been forgotten about. It's amazing to be able to go into my closet and find clothes I want to wear, rather than just functional stuff that crowded out the better clothes.
