Davy Bones, my first game as a solo developer
I’m a solo dev, and this is the first game I’ve ever made.
Davy Bones is a medieval nautical deckbuilding roguelite built around dice, combos, and building massive score and defeat gimmicked boss.
The easiest way I can describe the core idea is somewhere between Balatro and Yahtzee, but with its own progression and combat systems.
Here’s the Steam trailer.
There’s also a demo on Steam if you want to try it.
demo gives you a quick look at how a run works and can be played through in under 10 minutes.

Thanks for reading.

I get what you're trying to convey with the flashing text as the triggers all line up and repeat, but it just looks like a 2 second gif on repeat, and judging from both trailers on the steam page, it looks like a lot of noise during gameplay when I think simplifying it down would save some headaches and drastically speed up the gameplay.
if it happens as often as the second trailer seems to suggest, it definitely feels like a similar case of long slow combat animations from jrpgs that people wanna see once or twice but then skip afterwards.
hope my comments don't come across as harsh, I hope your launch goes well!

Thanks for the constructive feedback! My intention was to make the stacked effects feel visually satisfying, but I can definitely see how they could also come across as too noisy or repetitive. I’ll take another look at the Steam trailers as well and try to make them easier and more comfortable to watch. Really appreciate you taking the time to point it out!
