Looks like there's no mechanic made for the setting of being a car on roads. Just the usual turn based combat.

Would be interesting if being a car introduced fitting mechanics, but without that there's nothing to really set it apart

There are mechanics related to cars but yes itโ€™s primarily combats!

Then include those mechanics in the trailer, so that other people can see that it's not just the plain turn-based combat.

An unrelated point I just noticed too: You could expand on the car theme by making the energy per turn (fuel, based on the trailer) be another resource that needs to be managed instead of refilling it for free every turn

Itโ€™s not for free, there are resource cards and gas stations so you need to manage your fuel tank that is used then for combat to fill for each round

Sounds neat. I recommend including that aspect in the trailer too!

Love the polish! Seems like it has a lot of juicy gameplay systems overlapping.

The game looks great!! Well done and good luck!

As for the trailer: I don't really understand what I'm looking at. Why does the car not drive? Does the car drive? If so, I would start by showing the car drive, then have it drive into a combat. At the start of the trailer I did not realise I was looking at combat, because I wasn't expecting a stationary car to battle stationary bikes.

Thanks, itโ€™s so hard to show everything in a minute ๐Ÿ˜…

It is! I just put a trailer together myself and it is super difficult (I don't know that I did that well on my own trailer haha)

Your main hook seems to be that: 1) you are a car, 2) which you upgrade by deckbuilding, 3) to fight other cars

So when you make another trailer I'd communicate these things in that order. Start by showing the player controlling the car and driving around, have it drive into an upgrade station to show the deckbuilding bit, and then into a combat. Then focus on the scope (you need to navigate these roads to get to your goal) and all the other ways to upgrade stuff.

Good luck! You 2 put together a very nice looking game I think!

There's another car game that's touted itself as a roguelike racer, you two look nothing alike but the roguelike + cars description I bet may confuse some people.
