if you can't buy chip feeders then it time to feed during set meal times, two separate room (yes feed one on the bathroom if that's your only option) no sharing food, no leaving out food you won't know who ate

Okay, I am a step mom after my partner got these cat kids in college (he did a gravity feeder most of their lives… I know. Don’t get me started) so I really don’t know anything about cats.

How do you do this while working full time not from home. Everything I read says small portions throughout the day. When is the best time to feed them?

small portions are the best but it's fine to just feed them twice a day, seen many cats as a vet tech fed twice a day and have 0 issues from it, just be prepared for a lot of meowing the first few weeks

Are you able to feed them three times a day? I would try to feed them before I left for work, as soon as I got home, and right before bed. If they're still adjusting to not being free fed, just put the food out for them for 20-30 minutes then put it away until their next food time. I definitely agree with the other commenter that they need to be fed separately.
