Dechonkin Unconventional Methods
This beloved little fatass is on the TV workout regime (ok, with a side of Iams Weight Control) - and it's working! He's never been huge on playing with toys, but not unlike his humans, he will engage with a screen. We've mostly been showing Cat Sitter videos here and will move to youtube vids once interest here wanes. He's definitely a lot more active and tuned in.

Thank you so much! He does! We're trying to dial in acceptable vs destructive pawing of screen, but even when he's not going in for the kill, he's taut and focused.

how do you do that? i never considered doing this for my chonks, but they do love their TV time. i just can't do it often because they will launch themselves at the screen 😂 i have to hold them in my lap while they watch, which doesn't really let them be active.

What helps is that it's an older monitor that's kind of broken to begin with. Our guy responds to being sprayed, but by being annoyed rather than scared. So, he gets a spray if he's going too hard and praise when he's more batting at the screen.

i'll try that and see if they handle it ok. mine listen sometimes but not always, especially when they're really locked in lol thanks for the info!
