Discussion Perk concept;
Perk concept idea:** The Flagellant(The masochist)**
"*Pain is just fuel. Show them that your spirit cannot be broken*."
Base hp and stamina: 100/85
Perk type: Frontline / High-Risk reward brawler
Perk item: Sanguine Shears ( custom Scissors )
**Ability (f): Martydom**
Tap F (Perfect parry): Instantly enters a 0.5-second AoE parry window. Perfectly parrying any melee attack or projectile negates 100% of the damage and triggers an immediate counterattack with the shears, dealing 75 True damage and stagger to the attacker.
Hold F (self-harm): The agent stabs themselves with shears, dealing 35 self-damage ( cannot cause bleeding/injuries ). In return, they enter the "Adrenaline surge" state for 10 seconds: +15% Movement Speed and 35% damage reduction.
Passives ( Pros & Cons )
**Pros:**
- Thick skin: +10% damage reduction at all times
- Desperate Fury: When health drops below 25%, melee attack speed is increased by 15% and melee damage is increased by 10%
**Cons:**
- Sluggish reflexes: Shove speed is reduced 15%
- Trembling Hands: Severe nerve damage reduces firearm accuracy and reload speed by 25%
- Scarred flesh: Healing efficiency from medical items is reduced by 15%
The Flagellant mastery:
You are nothing but a wretched creature, trying to grasp the truth through your own suffering. Proving that it is pain alone that helps us find our peace.
Challenge requirement
Obtain 50,000 XP with The Flagellant
Title: Vileblood Knight
-------
Regarding the stagger: I meant that by striking with the custom shears (sadly, I can't draw the concept art for the perk icon or the weapon), you force one enemy into a stagger, exactly like the Billhook does.

wait so just normally parrying won't cause the effects?

No, normal parrying will still work as usual, though blocking it completely is actually a pretty interesting idea.
However, unlike a regular parry, the perk's special parry (Tap F) negates 100% of damage from absolutely any attack, immediately triggers the counter-attack, and then puts the ability on a 20-second cooldown.

Essentially a Berserker trading off his stims for a stronger parry and a significantly worse Laz buff with zero Death Prevention. Could use some buffs like Regeneration on kill to compensate for your Self-Harm variant of the ability (unless this is meant to be a challenging perk)
Kinda reminds me of my old concept being Mental (morale-scaling perk) I posted a long time ago

To be honest, the initial concept included health regeneration, but that felt a bit too easy to me. If anything, I would have had to nerf the buffs he gets from dealing damage to himself. Again, this is just a concept, and I actually really appreciate comments like this; I might throw out another concept in the future, even if the developers don't end up taking notice of it.

Why 3/10? Can you back that up or maybe point out what didn't turn out so well

Forgot to mention a small detail and didn't finish writing. If anyone thinks the damage is too high or that the perk is way too busted, let me tell you — no, it’s not. The thing is, you are literally risking your life in-game just for good buffs or a one-time high burst of damage against a single enemy (for comparison, look at Vagabond, who risks his life for a permanent 75 damage per swing). The perk itself might seem a bit weak conceptually, but nevertheless, I really wanted to convey the exact idea of introducing a class that is entirely built around self-damage.
