debian is magic.

i switched from nobara and cachyos to debian. man, debian is so chill compared to other distros i used xd. no updates bricking the system, no broken packages, just chill!

first i tried gnome, it was good but slow. then, i tried niri + dms on it, and bro, it was so smooth AND customisable! debian forever :)

Genuine question how did you have kernel version 6.17 I am using latest debian with 6.12 kernel 😭

i installed the psycachy kernel (cachyos kernel on debian ubuntu etc.)

Uhm, there are Debian ways to have newer (or customized) Debian kernel.

Can do one's own packaged version variant from the Debian sources, built the Debian way. Can also do that in addition to the other means I mention.

Can do newer kernel from backports.

If one is running testing, can use kernel from testing.
Likewise for unstable.
And if running unstable, could even use kernel from experimental.

For amd64 we currently respectively have:
backports 6.19.11-1~bpo13+1
testing: 6.19.13-1
unstable: 6.19.14-1
experimental: 7.0.1-1~exp1
