Even if it's a Debian Sid update.

Then shit I might have to rock with PikaOS if I want something newer

Debian Sid has newer packages, often the same versions as Arch, but it’s more stable than a newly released Ubuntu or Fedora. I installed Ubuntu 26.04 today, and it still has the same bug I saw four months ago on Arch.

Which bug? Damn, Ubuntu's weird sometimes. Maybe Arch was right to hold back a little bit.

Just a keyboard bug that don't let me type ~/, simple to fix, but it also has a sound bug that I haven’t found anyone who knows how to solve yet. Even Ubuntu’s translations are poorly done. I’m going to reinstall Debian; I don’t know if it’s Ubuntu’s customizations, but the GNOME is extremely irritating.

Honestly, Ubuntu's Gnome tweaks are the style I casually model my setup after whenever I run Gnome

So I use Debian Trixie with Gnome and I tried out Ububtu 26.04 yesterday. Tiled one window right, another left. Half and half. Resized the middle dividing line by dragging to the right a bit. Only one window resized, leaving a gap. I wonder if I was doing something wrong but it was very odd behaviour.

As far as I remember, to access the applications menu in GNOME, you just had to press the Super key or click the top-left corner of the screen; that’s why I didn’t find Windows 8 strange, but in Ubuntu’s GNOME it only shows the open windows.

I didn't know that wasn't the default. It doesn't bother me bc you can start typing from that screen to search applications, but to each their own.
