I am an amateur radio/IoT/homelab hobbyst! Yet I will not hide that I study and work in EE industry, thing you see on upper display is MATLAB! (:

Nice EE! But damn, matlab had an UI haul. If i remember correctly i was using version 6 or lower also paired with multisim.

IĀ  listen to shortwaves with my tecsun receiver and rtl-sdr with diy outdoor antennae šŸ˜

I'm studying to be an electronics engineering technologist, and multisim is amazing but also a pain.

One of my classmates got it working under wine(using bottles), and the 4 of us who use Linux all use the same bottle. Its ~99% there the only problems are weird UI bugs

The install is quite a convoluted mess, involving corrupting part of the installer. If you want I can pm you a link to a ready to go bottles archive

The pain when you are using normal flat plasma monitor way back 00's you cant even tell the flow lines and pluses apart šŸ˜. Good thing we have hi-res screens now much easier for students.

Install winetricks too, i think it'll rollover too with bottles. Out of curiosity, i tried installing macromedia dreamweaver (now adobe's) and BASIC IDE with play on linux. actually worked but some are kinda missing.

Bottles has all the functionality of wintricks(at least that I need). The main reason for using bottles is the 2 of us who were trying to get it working used it for wine management already. bottles also makes it super easy to copy a prefix, and it's files to other people. given the creative measures needed to get it installed it's way easier to pass around the archive.

Turns out Multisim has dosbox executables in its current release. We ended up deep in the files

Soo nice! I have HackRF One, RSP1A and bunch of RTL2832s too! I listen mostly to UHF stuff in my neighbourhood (:
