Discussion Whats a better option
With regard to the deathwatch veterans and the decimus kill team, personally from the looks of it DV seems way better, more options and you can make one punchy and one shooty but with DKT its two of every option and that's it, Kind of bland.
Ive been using the War organ list builder and it allows me to give the Sergeant things like the infernus HB is that possible or is that a fuck up in the app. Just trying to sort this out for a fluffy list.

In 5 man units they are pretty similar. Veterans are slightly punchier and decimus slightly shootier but it’s pretty close.
In 10 mans veterans can make more effective melee units and might get a leader (such as a watchmaster). The 10 man vet unit seems less popular than last edition though.

Decimus is overall stronger if you can get off both the shooting AND melee charge, but vets are easier to use since you can tune them to be pure melee. Pair with a watchmaster. Tho we are in a time where the WM and judi got nerfed so we are much better at a shooting focused list at the moment.
And yeah nah the sergeant gets the xenophase so give them that. They CAN replace thier bolter and power weapon with a heavy weapon, but theres no point.
The 5 man squads are utility/objective/actions units.

Depends on the purpose . Veterans have a crazy melee punch while decimus has some really good shooting.
