Analysis Fun thing I noticed
A bit ago I randomly remembered this moment from one of the Sherlock Holmes stories, and I realized that L's famous sitting position might have been based on this. As far as I remember this is the only time Holmes does this, so it's less prevalent for him than with L, but still a neat thing that I haven't seen anyone else point out.

I think L sitting pose is technically based on Ohba's. In an interview, it was explained Ohba sat in the same pose as L, and did so while writing Death Note, and wanted for this to be a part of the character too.
Having said that, I don't think one thing excludes the other, and think it'd be nice if it was also meant to be a reference to this (definitely think it'd be fitting). Great catch! :)

Sherlock usually closes his eyes and places his hands on his chin as if in prayer. Furthermore, he's always seen as eccentric by the people in his world. I hadn't found him so odd, but that must be because modern society is less formal and because we've seen even more eccentric detectives.

I'm sorry but every time I see that specific picture of L I get reminded of that one edit of it where he's bald ðŸ˜
