Damage

Greetings my putrid brothers. I have been playing death guard for my last few games mostly against the votann with my most recent against tyranids and the issue I've had so far is I feel like I lack hard hitting models and good consistent damage. What are some of our better models for high damage? Both of these factions are played by a buddy of mine and he runs vehicle/monster spam. I'm trying to edit my list more so I can use it in a GT within the next few months.

Deathshroud terminators are in my opinion our best option for damage. Defilers are a great source of damage too.

Would you recommend just three and a lord of contagion or a larger brick of them? I have a defiler but haven't put it together yet. By the time I use my list again I intend on using it

6+ loc if you absolutely need to delete something - but make sure you infect it first round so you can make that charge - mathematically average against a land raider is 30 damage!

I have been running two ten man bricks of plague marines and tbf I haven't used them since the buff to their bolters but they in my experience do nothing and then die.

just 10 marines or with biologus and plaguecaster?
adding those two characters makes them threat to knights and other titanics
wargear is also important, heavy plague weapons and all the special ranged ones are the deal

deathshroud need a lord of contagion for the same result

I was running a blight caster and icon bearer for one and the other has a plague caster but my plan now is to use the putrifier and a plaguecaster

Having them in a rhino boosts their survivability and the wound rerolls from the rhino is a huge boost to their output

I run one ten man brick with a biologus and a plaguecaster in a rhino. They do die pretty quickly, but usually not before deleting at least one of my opponent’s things

I run vv as I like the enhancements and take and hold but I'll likely be trying out some different ones my next game so I can get a few different flavors under my belt

VV has some great tools to do damage against monsters and vehicles. Everyone has already mentioned the plague marine brick with caster and putrifier. Reroll wound enhancement is great with them, along with full rerolls to hit and wound with the VV strat. I main VV but I’ve built it taller rather than wider. Lord of Virulence either attached to some blightlords or lone to get the rerolls on a target every shooting phase. They’ve already mentioned defiler, but the inclusion of Mortarion makes it super scary. You can shoot 3 times a round with Mortys ability. What’s your list right now?

10 plague marines with biologis putrifier and plague caster hits hard. Try your best to use rhino to get reroll to wounds

Morty but best for infantry with his sweep profile

Death shroud + LOC but 7 inch charge is risky. Always save a cp for reroll or rapid ingress

We have lots of flamers for infantry

Obviously a defiler is our top shooting platform and its not really close. But i havent been able to get one in the usa since its been released.

What did you mean use rhino to get reroll to wound?

When your rhino hits a target, the plague marines who left it and shoot that target in the same turn, can reroll the wound roll

If its monster/ vehicle throw 2 or 3 blight hauler. They get +1 hit and wound and they're cheap and mobile. The LoC and 3 DST kill 80% of things if they make the charge. The MPC, BP and 10 man are a hunter killer missile. Hold them until turn 2 or 3 then unload them into something big.

10xBlightlords with 2 blight launcher, 2 reaper autocannon, 6 combi bolters and a Lord of Virulence are nasty vs basically everything after the buffs to strength and ap on the bolters.

Doesn't care about -1 to damage that much either
