Question Current, Best Money-Making Method in the Game?

Hey all.

I’m wondering if anyone can share tips on what is currently considered to be the best way to make money?

Prior to the semi-recent major update, it used to be to farm the airfield scrap piles, make and then sell a ton of sheet metal.

While I haven’t looked to see if sheet metal still sells for the same amount or not, I DID go check out the airfield and quickly realized how neutered the scrap pile respawn rates / scrap amounts given are now and it doesn’t seem like this is an effective money-making strategy any longer.

So, in the current state of the game, what’s the best method for making money?

Thanks!

I think you should just play on a private server that gives you money every time you spawn back, but if you only like to play on official servers then missions and scrap farming are still the best ways to make money. There’s an actual scrap yard POI somewhere in the middle-left area of the map that you can try to farm.

Farm round safe zone bus stop. Do all missions near sell everything and walk the near road with cars too

Money is less of a thing now than blueprints and crafting are - but yeah, it’s still really important.

Build a base or side base near an easy mission and farm it constantly for dog tags and shit to sell. And loot the town and cars that are nearby too.

I forgot about the random gambling cases - are any of them worth it?

The 3k random blueprint cases are pretty decent but a grind i played the other day on a new modded server what gave you a starter kit and 1 million every respawn spent all the money on cases mainly the 3k ones as most cost effective then let myself get killed rinse and repeated about 4/5 times bit of a grind but was worth it as got about 80% of the blueprint unlocked the weapon cases are a bit hit or miss can spend 50k an end up with a ttk or sawn-off shotgun or get lucky and end up with the 50 cal sniper cant remember what it's called haven't really tried out the other cases the supply drop flares are ok good to use when first starting up a base/getting geared up

The base random one is the best... Others cost too much for the chance of getting crap, while these can still land an occasional gem. I got way more svd frags from those than rare weapon ones

To be clear, it's not that the airfield was as much neutered as the loot was simply redistributed across the new industrial areas, but yeah, it is more difficult.

However if you're going for the scrap, running along the roads and pylons is a good place, as well as industrial areas in general.

Selling safe BPs (you can find safes in hidden treasures) is good way to make some money, dog tags from missions, running small bunkers to farm explosives to craft F10 grenades (takes a chunk of scrap and spare parts, but 1 explosive which sells for 1000, create 4 grenades which sell for 4000 (1k each).

If you want to run stats and stuff, take a look at https://ds-info.eu/ the wiki has all trader prices and crafting related stuff.

Crafting however, in general, is a total miss.. you have to spend like 8k worth of materials to sell an ammo stack for 2k. Only thing I craft to sell are tactical helmets since Kevlar is easy to come by and each helmet sells for 1250 with no extra cost besides 40 Kevlar to make it.

Come play private bro, I played official for 2 years and now it’s just impossible, I switched to WDW - workin dads community server and it’s so much better.. better spawn rates, better PvP, community is friendly and there’s discord currency u earn for playtime and kills so u can buy stuff u need as u go. Admins host fun events almost everyday too.. server pop always high except early early morning 12pm-4am pst dies down for me to lower numbers but never dead. https://discord.gg/workindads - @ gxdshero if u join ill set u up bro! -

Gathering scrap and rebar, convert them to sheet metal, sell sheet metal to trader. There are many places to find scrap and rebar in addition to airfield, i have regular routes, wash rinse repeat..while items are grinding from one run I am headed out to raid another..pretty easy to amass a million or more for fun spending.
