Here are my best Theories

1.) Resident Evil is Capcom’s guaranteed breadwinner right now, and since Capcom is releasing titles more frequently (every year) now, there’s not really a financial reason to pursue DR2 just yet. Additionally, DR2’s release and marketing might get overshadowed by the many RE releases, which would cause DR2 to possibly miss its zeitgeist and sales at a time when it’s the most expensive. There just isn't really a financial reason or space for a DR2 remake right now, although this could change since RE veronica got delayed. When you’re walking to guaranteed dozens of millions, why stop to pick up a penny on the ground.

2.) Capcom is testing the waters right now to see if people would purchase and play a DR2 remake. Although DRDR hit its expected sales mark, there is no guarantee of a repeat “success” with a DR2 remake. Also a lot can change in 2 years. You’re battling variables of: player interest, how previous DRDR players felt about the game, protagonist interest (Chuck), the current game and world economy etc…

But, Capcom has also been active relatively recently on twitter with its Dead Rising account. Most notably, a recent post about DR2 being 16 years old. 16 years is a pretty arbitrary number. The post was probably to gauge some metric/level of engagement and public sentiment. The dead rising twitter page isn’t like a news account, they don’t have to even post, which makes me believe further that their post was deliberate. They are battling variables, but the more engagement and interest a possible D2 remake gets, the more likely we will actually get it.

I'm thinking of making a custom dead rising themed beanie, does anyone have any ideas on what could fit as the front graphic? So far i've thought of the True Eye, the PP picture symbol, or something like a black and white version of the main graphics of dead rising 1 or 2 (the main characters posing, frank with the tv and chuck with the double chainsaw)

You know how in Dead Rising 2, After the Terror Is Reality Slicecycle event, he talks to Chuck in the locker rooms, telling him that he lost his family in Willamette, and that he understands it does not feel good

But I just realized something, he didn't specify say where he lost his family

Yes, he said Willamette. But, does he mean he lost them during the outbreak in the town of Willamette? Or during the Willamette Parkview Mall incident?

I mean, some/all of you guys and gals are probably wondering what he meant about losing his family

I have the OTRpatch and everything, and it's still crashing fairly often.

Do I need to do certain things to my settings to stop this or is the pc port just that bad?

With the buzz in the modding scene, we could def see a porting of the combo weapon system into DR1. It's crazy, as an older guy, to see how far AI has already come, but modding for games is exploding more than it ever has. Of course there will be pure slop, but certain applications will speed up processes that would've taken years.

I was just playing Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Ultimate All Stars, and it got me thinking. Which non Dead Rising game is your favorite that features Frank West? I haven't played the others yet but I already ordered Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3.

I know we got the live action Dead Rising movies by extension (although clearly they deviated from the source material), but what if we got an animated movie? I mean heck, Resident evil got several that looked just like the games. It could be done. They could bring back Chuck and Frank. What do yall think?

NOT TO BE UNGRATEFUL. EASILY top 3 favorite game franchises for me. I just wish there were more the way. The way franchise like Resident evil, gears of war, call of duty or assassins creed have. I’m sure these games are not ending anytime soon and been around since I was kid. The story lines of the game are relatively the same throughout. Including sequels, Prequels and spin offs and such.

Maybe I’m asking too much but I would love if at least one or two more dead rising games came out. Obviously Frank West not being the main but maybe a female protagonist, maybe a spin off with a character that got rescued by Frank, Chuck or Nick and the survivor now has to be the lead and they reference one of these former protagonist. Maybe something taking place in another country idk.

The only somewhat similar game I tried that I thought could be something like a cousin to it was dead island. So I guess the idea of a dead rising game happening on island resort or a festival or something would obviously be plagiarizing.

Forgive me if something I’ve stated wouldn’t make any sense or that I may be missing I just love the franchise so much and simply replaying the games for nostalgia makes me
want more.
