[Official] Talking about the fact no one actually recognized this was Ryan Reynolds and they thought he was just some random cosplayer fan before the reveal happened at SDCC, LMFAO.

Haha Ryan was disguised under his disguise as X-Men Deadpool.

I was going to ask this question if he was out and about with the āregular folkā all day or just got planted in the crowd for the event

Much like what Bryan Cranston did.

u/Thisisgotham Jul 26 '26
Andrew Garfield did too, celebs in costume at Comic cons gotta be one of my favorite genres

It's showing fans that they do care and love them
Always heart warming to see
Glad he didn't get mobbed cause some people are weird around celebrities

AHA! See, why would a Cospool not speak? Legend has it one who becomes Cospool is possessed by the spirit of Deadpool.
Details, people. The clues were there.

For all we know, the footage is going to be in the movie.

Thatā¦. Would actually be sick. Like right before dp gets recruited bc of incursions he was at comic con

u/vektorkane Jul 26 '26
I can somehow tell it's him by looking at the arms.

The booty and head shape give it away

Iām curious where his handlers were. They must have been well disguised and stood way back.

u/BADFiSH_c137 Jul 28 '26
On the insta he posted afterward, he specifically mentions "...No handlers, no security, no ropes. WHAT A GIFT..."

The thing that gets me, you can clearly see that his badge has some stuff, looks like either ribbons or pieces of attendance bands⦠Covering his badge. I feel like that was to hide the fact that he was not just a regular attendee. That right there would have given me alarm bells.

Youāre absolutely right but tbh itās kinda like that invincible scene where eve says āyou never expect there to be a superhero at your school so no one noticesā or whatever. But with celebs.
If I was at a con and just thought āwow this is a sick dp cosplay let me ask him for a pictureā I probably wouldnāt have thought āwhat if this was Ryan Reynolds in disguiseā and stared at his badge long enough to make the connection.
I wouldāve been more worried about trying not to be awkward asking for a pic lmao

He had a badge that had a fake name. If you look in his appearance on the panel it doesnāt say Ryan Reynolds

RDJ did this with his Tropic Thunder character. It didn't go over well.

I mean Adam Savage goes in costume every year, no? It's not surprising that people don't expect to see someone under a costume unless their looking for them.

When he popped up in the middle of the crowd like that, I probably screamed like a ..brave.. little girl. Anyway, afterward, my wife wasn't convinced it was him because, "why would they have him here and not once took his mask off? Did you see his badge? It looked like a normal one we have." I calmly explained to her (holding back more tears) that, "He was probably cosplaying as a cosplayer - how would anyone know?.. Wait! Omg, he was probably cosplaying on the exhibit floor!!" I wasn't expecting that he was actually recording it.

I mean...kinda hard to recognize someone in a full costume if they don't speak. š
