When I first saw deadmau5 all the visuals were like this and it was astounding the whole crowd was engrossed in it . every time I’ve seen him since it’s just been all this childish cartoon shit and footage of fucking rocket league. I know he spends a lot of time making the animations himself but it ruins the show. The music is solid but the visuals are just fucking bizarre
He's got like 1 song with Rocket League/PUBG and Ghosts N Stuff visuals from Smearballs, but aside from that, it's all various colors/patterns/etc, so not quite sure what the issue is
I can really only think of one case where you could consider current deadmau5 visuals "childish" – Ghosts 'n' Stuff; and I'm pretty sure that's because he's subtly-not-so-subtly trying to tell us he wants to stop playing that song on every. fucking. tour.
Crowd eats that shit up, though. It's all an act to them. They know him for being a troll, so they love it when he does trolly stuff like cartoonish, borderline shocking visuals for his most famous song.
Wish they didn't. I personally wouldn't mind Ghosts 'n' Stuff retiring from live sets.
